Why should we disclose our losses when Pakistan hasn't admitted a single one of theirs? Since you all are so keen on numbers ......we lost one Rafale, one MiG-29, and one Mirage 2000........The Rafale ran out of fuel flying low to dodge a Pakistani strike, all thanks to the absurdly soft Rules of Engagement ( ROE) we were forced to operate under........ Our jets were told to hit only "terrorist targets" while carefully avoiding Pakistan's military assets because someone I won't name as we already know who they are thought international virtue signaling mattered more than battlefield logic. And that hesitation? It cost us big initially which we rectified two days later...... It's a stark reminder that in war, restraint driven by image management can come at a heavy cost.

i would rather take 3 jet losses than getting 11 of my main airbases bombarded along with my air defence getting destroyed or supressed. We must understand that the loss of fighter jets has tactical implications while important airbases deep inside a country getting bombarded along with a rumored attack on nuclear installation(s) has strategic implications also the loss of jets was due to our foolishness(not doing sead) rather than their capability.

Su 30 outperformed because it is with us for about 3 decades now , generations of our pilots experience have made this platform very potent and lethal.
Even after all those J10, Erie eye on Pak side ,MKI has been able to strike with pin point precison.
For Rafael to get there it has to also go through fire . You can't expect a platform to mature in a system instantaneously

You have to put yourself in their foot and then think. There was no clinching (that no one internationally can dispute) evidence this time like India had during Mumbai 26/11 with call recordings and capture of Kasab.

If you straight up go after military targets then that would have been a literal declaration of war on Pakistan. International diplomatic community would have been even more unfavorable, some may even paint this as a kind of Russian invasion of Ukraine event happening in Asia.

With Pakistan now coming out so overtly as a protectorate of terror and targeting Indian military in response to counter terror targeting, it has now given India the pretext to target Pak military during onset of future operations itself.

India needs to be wary of Chengiz Khan type of Pakistan operation (including covert means).

No it is not the fear of CAATSA because that doesn't apply to already existing JVs or license manufactured products. It's just IAF thinking if HAL produce su-30 MKI the production line for Tejas will get blocked. And then they still have to upgrade those new Su-30 MKI to super Sukhoi. Which will take its sweet time and money. In short they fear about cost overrun. That's it. Murica can't issue CAATSA on or Su-30 MKi/Super Sukhoi at all.

At the end its upto IAF whether they want more su-30 MKI or not.

IAF was naive here . hard to believe they didnt consider possibility that pak would retaliate against our jets and that wasnt communicated to leadership.

They DID consider the possibility. Necessary precautions were taken to avoid any retaliation on the strike package, thus none were harmed.

What IAF didn't consider is PAF will later attack any and every jet flying within our own airspace, something akin to a complete war.

These retarded ROEs are the result of some MEA/IFS types persuading the Leaderji.

Same ROEs were in place during Balakot also, same set of official emphasis on "we hit terrorist camps onleee" and "we don't want escalation".

Hopefully because of the blowing up of this bs it should stop during the next round of fighting and IAF can be allowed to do SEAD/DEAD as it should have done always.

This is why you let military leadership make militart decision. Till IPS/IFS lead military branches and operation ours will be an army of lions lead by sheeps.
