Operation Sindoor

Pakistani tried to use 500+ drones to overwhelm our Air defences and try their luck with key military and civilian targets.

As it was discussed before on the utility of cheap drones, used by Pakistan, this is now proven beyond any doubt that a well-layered defence grid can neutralise these toys at whim.

Indian success is due to many factors which I will not detail, however, Pakistanis are trying to figure it out, but they do not know we have many surprises for them.

Again, I pray we keep the hunt on.

It also helps that they are dehati with zero skills in war. Drone warfare over high montane low density terrain ( meaning sharp valleys and lots of ground clearance periodically as you cross the ridges and dive down etc and no people) is highly suciptible to fragging - which means fire a shotgun shell close to it and get it to explode close to it. bye bye drone. easily done with a timed cartridge.
You cannot use this solution in jammu or in populated zones coz of shrapnel raining down on people and civillians and causing lots of injuries. but over a desert valley in Leh ? This 200,000 dollar frag launcher is kaafi.
From what i have learnt about drone warfare in Ukraine, which is the world's drone warfare laboratory, you need plain wooded terrain to hide drone in low flying open sky shurbbery clutter for most of its flight and generally you go over populated areas, where they are forced to use single projectile ( a missile, another drone, shooting bullets at it, etc) solution or some ECM jamming technology to screw with the drone. Cant just frag it outta the sky.
This is why droning Jammu is a much better choice than droning Leh- which seems like height of retardation to me from what i know of drone warfare.

In our populated areas, we have good multi-layered systems around the main high value regions around the LoC & IB - through it isnt full border-wide coz we aint rich enough to put multi-layered AD throughout thar and the rann.

Sirens went off in Chandigarh following a warning from the Air force station of possible attack. Possibly swarm drone attack. pak has been trying to target chandigarh since yesterday
Anyone OSINT or news reports on this?

Or you heard it from locals?

Regarding IAF Acquisitions - It seems like small, compact, cheap Point defence aircraft in large numbers would be a force multiplier in our Air Defence and anti tresspassing capabilities (which is probably what china will try to do in case they want to try and intimidate us like japan).

Rafales seem incredibly expensive and prolly wont be worth its exorbitant price in a saturated AD zone like china (Naval Rafales seem like an excellent idea tho).

It seems the Tejas' stocks are gonna keep rising :lca:. This op made me realize how good we hit the nail on the head with Tejas. We need AMCA too, but I see Tejas Mk1A, Mk2 being our most trusted workhorses.

Given that we need to mainly focus on self defence to grow our economy in the next 10 years, our baby :lca:is gonna be a MASSIVE headache for the Terror-jeets and Corona-tards :daru:.

Oki boys paxtani are saying they will retaliate.. their govt sources (basically military mouthpiece) are giving interview in their local channels that they will attack.

We need to stay vigilant.. looks like they can respond in hours that will be their main attack.. all these drones attack doens't mean anything.. they will be using MLRS, BALLISTIC MISSILE nd CRUISE MISSILE that is for sure.

Things will escalate 💥💥

My wish list: LCA, Astras, swarm drones, DEW, loitering munitions, standoff munitions, powerful jammers, more Rudrams, more L70 type guns with electronic fuse air burst munitions, manpads, vshorads, akash NG, atags, rocket assisted 155 artillery, mgs, sniper rifles. Each of these we make in-house. No need to be overly dependent on other countries for these.

Ofcourse we need other weapons systems and types too, but i will be happy if those get fast tracked.

AD and rafale, both have merits in their own domains. it's not a binary of one at the cost of the other.
rafale has not been purchased with drone attacks in mind, these type of drones were not on the horizon when it was first decided that rafale class fighter jet needs to be procured.
