You are missing a major fact, MONEY. Except for US donated F-16, what major acquisition has PAF done or is capable to do, except for JF-17? Need I tell you how expensive fighter jets along with weapons and maintenance have become? A single fighter jet costs more than $100 million now. How many can Pakis fund? They are even buying only 20 J-10 and that too on loan.
As for air defence, what systems can Paki purchase? No one other than Chinese are going to sell them anything. Air defence is anyways highly expensive. A single Patriot system costs $2 billion in exports. Similarly we paid $5.5 billion for 5 S-400 systems. Pakis already used the budget to buy Chinese AD. What else can they buy in significant quantity? Even AD missiles are expensive to replenish. Attrition will simply demolish them
Apart from economy, another major difference between Pakis and us are domestic R&D and manufacturing. We can produce 200 Tejas Mk-1A, 200 Tejas Mk2, > 100 AMCA. We will replenish our Akash, MRSAM and other AD systems. We will develop our own S-400 (Project Kusha), our own sub-sonic cruise missile (LR-LACM), hypersonic missiles etc. Heck, if required, we will purchase more S-400 worth $5.5 billion. Can Pakis rival?
My point is that the past sins of Pakis are now catching up with them. All their Jihadism and sem2sem with India is now showing result. While we did the hard work on economy and R&D, they just bought some of Chinese weapons, trying their infamous sem2sem. They forgot that as Indian economy & R&D advances, we will just outspend them and we will also develop our own cheaper weapons, which they cannot match. They thought their nuclear bluff will save them, but that was called out too.
