That chinese made SH-15/PCL-181 truck mounted howitzer(videos above) is the only equipment in Paki army that we should be concerned about... & they have it in numbers... approx 300. We have 0 in this category.

Shoot & scoot capability becomes more important in short wars which is about to unfold.

We allowed the deficiencies and capability gaps to increase... and hence a rabid jihadi state 1/12th in economy kills and maims our populace and is challenging us for war.
They have plenty of other equipment that will be a real pain the behind for our armed forces. For example the A-100 300mm class MRBL - which safe to say comes with guided rockets.
China's discount S-300 SAM, air launched cruise/ballistic missiles, glide PGMs will also be a major concern.

And do we have any deterrent for these?
You are asking all the right questions for which you know the answers already.

Just to simplify, in our current state we will not have the kind of superiority Israel had over Gaanja. Any victories will come at a steep cost riding on the brass balls and testosterone of the Indian armed forces, specifically the army.

Hence our best and decisive bet would be naval front which they have little deterrence against.

I think Ukraine has proved that you can sink heavy cruisers and flasghips using ASMs. If the Chinese ASMs are even half decent, they would be a deterrent to Vikrant CBG. Our image conscious govt wouldn't risk a Moskva moment.

A number of large scale orders were placed in March, 2025. Article from February, 2025.

@ezsasa , any idea how much was returned, eventually?

feb and march orders given are about 80,000 crore which includes ATAGS and LCH, if we assume 10% on purchase order then 8000 crore is less right there.
and there were quite a few steel cutting, launches, and deliveries IN has taken of small and medium boats, payments would have gone for them too.

either books are balanced or maybe even overshot the budget.

anyways cash is not an issue, new financial year.

You are not Dharti Putra.
If we strike Pakistan and they escalate in response, we must have enough strength to contain it without suffering significant damage — which I don’t currently see. Moreover, Pakistan has declared that if we strike their citizens (we all know who they mean), they will retaliate by targeting Indian citizens.

Let it be a no holds barred fight. They are already killing our citizens and attacking cities. So what's new??

If some have not gone out of the country yet . Can Armenia bros let us keep some. :playball:

My dear friend, Bharat forge can increase the production rate if required for our request. Yes, we can negotiate with Armenia that we will use the current stock. We can even produce the Garuda v2 in mass numbers. TASL can also step up for MGS.

Bharat Forge, TASL , L&T, AWEIL can manufacture Artillery at scale.

Question is how fast can Army incorporate them into battlefield since they are new weapons and closet relative is K9 which is similar in role (Mobile Artillery).

Army doesn't know what to do with them. They have no precedence for these mobile wheeled light howitzers in service. They are still brainstorming SOPs regarding these new trucks.

Ukr-Rus started 3 years back. Enough time to have knowledge on this.

Once upon a time they also claimed that scrapping IWT will be an act of war, now they changed it to diverting water will be act of war, when we start diverting they will state diverting water meant for Pakistan will be act of war

I hope we use this as an opportunity to scrap "no 1st use".
And if they make noises that we don't like, denuclearise the bastards.
Preemptively do a counter-force attack on their missile silos, production facilities and command & control nodes.

Make missile defence easier for our BMD network.

Of course pakjabis will probably have ballistic missile TELs and the 2 or something remaining subs that aren't perpetually being repaired.

Our satellite coverage might be enough for early detection.
One of the reasons why I keep pining for ISRO to increase the rate of satellite-launches and a desi SBIRS like network for early detection of paki and chini missile launches.
No first use policy is not a law. No court or organ of the government can question the council of ministers if or when it chooses to exercise such an option. It exists purely for optics and was adopted soon after the tests in 1999 to calm down many countries who imposed sanctions upon India. Altering it is a low hanging fruit which has no meaningful effect on the ground. Even the Chinese have such a policy. You can clearly see how much it has been put into practice when you consider that we have nearly the double amount of warheads than we did almost 10 years ago (90-110 in around 2015, 180 in 2025). Proliferation of nuclear weapons hasn't stopped in the slightest.
