Some people are wrongfully projecting that members here have concluded that we can stop water to Pakistan immediately & completely.
No one claimed that.
in fact many members repeatedly pointed out that we can't cut off, forget completely, not even 20%.
In fact this was the argument presented when few members sarcastically abused why suspension when we should be terminating it, that we don't have the capacity to ensure water does not flow into Paki land.
What suspension of IWT does though is following 2 things.
1. Now it does not need to discuss with Pakis about any projects that are to be built on these rovers
2. whatever we can stop we will stop at the time of our choosing.
Note to point 1. Any construction as per agreement would by default need to approval of pakis and with this suspension, it does not need to anymore.
that will be the important immediate impact of suspending IWT.
