In 1971, India was significantly poorer—its foreign exchange reserves were near zero, over 90% of the population lived below the poverty line, per capita income was half that of Pakistan, and the Indian rupee was worth only half as much. The majority of the population was illiterate, and India didn’t even possess a nuclear submarine to counter the U.S. 7th Fleet in the Bay of Bengal. Despite the U.S. and Pakistan aligning against it, India invaded East Pakistan and, in just 12 days, forced the largest military surrender in history. Remarkably, even under such economic constraints, India’s military remained large and formidable. Then what are we setup for as a nation, to tolerate this shit show by our enemies from inside and outside.
War is inevitable you can call it by any name india pak war or religion war but it is coming the most effective defence is attack.
But if your observations are true then we are screwed as we are already very poor and i dont want my future generations to live in this continous fear of terror to save the fake pride of a so called prosperous nation.
India was economically poor, but the political will of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was unwavering. She ruled with an iron hand, and nothing could deter the determination of the nation. Despite facing American sanctions and economic hardships, India continued to invest heavily in its missile and space programs, after conducting nuclear tests in 1974.
