The thing about Iran is that it is like a barking dog that seldom bites, much like Iraq's Republican Guard, which, at the beginning of the US invasion, threatened to destroy US aircraft carriers and bases but once the war began, surrendered en masse without firing a single shot.

The officers and soldiers of their defense forces are poorly skilled and have a very low level of professionalism. Their military emphasizes ideological loyalty over technical expertise. Promotions and perks are tied to loyalty rather than merit.

The entirety of Iran's military is compromised from top to bottom. While their mullahs threaten to destroy Israel, their generals sell military secrets for a handful of shillings.
 
Israel might have overplayed its hand lots of destruction in israeli cities israel cant stop all the missiles and they dont have starategic depth to take hits for extended time.
If usa dosent intervene now and nethanyu didnt stop then we might see israel getting wiped of the map which is a very bad thing for india.

This week everything will be clear who wins.

lol Israel has achieved complete air dominance over Iranian airspace and taking out precise military targets on other hand Iran is doing saturation attacks on wherever it can with whatever it has left before being taken out.

In few days Iranians will find hard to launch ballistic missiles and Israel will keep on going, Israel need to absorb these hits which they can and finish the objectives.

Can India wipe off a small country of the size of bangladesh which does not have much to resist India with, going all out with its conventional ability without using nukes?
 
I can now confidently say that India’s air defense system is far superior to Israel’s Iron Dome. While the Iron Dome relies heavily on missiles to intercept Iranian drones, India’s system has demonstrated greater versatility. Pakistani drones have been effectively neutralized not just by missiles but also by manually operated air defense guns, operated by BSF. Meanwhile, high-value targets like missiles, fighter jets, AWACS, and tankers are engaged by missile systems. Although manually operated guns can also take down aircraft, they are primarily used to intercept drones—showcasing a layered and highly adaptable air defense capability.

don’t be surprised if DRDO develops an automatic gun system capable of intercepting missiles. Directed energy weapons to neutralize drones, aircraft, and missiles are also already in development.

Against drone swarms, yes. Against a saturation attack of SRBMs or MRBMs that we might get from Porkies/Chini remains to be seen. We should monitor and learn from what we are witnessing in ME.

Seems like a new tactics of confuse AD.

Indian Army effectively used a homemade, DIY-style manually operated gun to shoot down Pakistani drones, simplicity and skill can be just as effective.

Could very well be a hobby drone workshop but assuming what the reporter says is true it underlines what a lot of Iran watchers long suspected that society there is divided firmly between those who support the regime & benefit enormously from it vs those who're outside the system.

This includes professional arms of the state like the Iranian armed forces the police etc for in their wisdom what the Mullahs have done is create a parallel administration in the form of the IRGC , the Basij etc.

Naturally this leaves the original administration set up emaciated & frustrated. Add other forms of discontent to it & you've that discontent manifesting itself in ways we're seeing now.

Then again Iran has one of the most curious histories of all ancient civilizations in the world. They've collapsed thrice to virtually unknown or little known powers & I mean total capitulation.

The first one was when Alexander of Macedonia defeated the Achaemenid king Darius III in three successive battles & destroyed the Achaemenid Empire the sole super power in the world or at any rate in that part of the world then.

The second instance was when the Arabs conquered Persia defeating the Sassanid Empire once again a regional super power losing to a virtually unknown power & eventually only managed to retain its language having converted to their conqueror's religion & having adapted their culture.

The third was during the Safavid Empire's rule where the vast majority of Iranians were Sunnis when the founder of the Safavid Empire Shah Ismail - I introduced Shi'a Islam to Iran & forced his subjects to convert to this sect .

Successive emperors of this dynasty ensured the whole of Iran converted in a process which took a couple of centuries involving forced conversions , killings in thousands before wiser counsel prevailed & gentle persuasion by the clergy , tax incentives for converting , ease of inheritance etc - basically the same tools Islam employed worldwide to boost it's numbers were then used by a sect to get members of the other sect to convert to theirs.

None of these three instances have any parallel in world history across the time space dynamic. This is one of the paradoxes of Iran & its history.
