In the past, both after Uri and Pulwama, the previous avatar of DFB had quality discussions and analysis.It clearly seems ^^intelligent debates and discussions^^ aren't needed here. There are a few other DFI oldies who would have added immense value to the discussions here but are staying out because of the current quality of discussions and also because we are after all "wizened fellows" who have congregated elsewhere.

Perhaps it's my bad to expect a better quality of discussion here. Have a good time with this level of discussion, I'm out.

It is what it is. Not every place can be a tower of erudition and nor should it aim to be so. There is definitely a place for very high brow discussions, but we also require places that are more approachable.

We do need to radicalise our people and continuously shift the Overton window. If we block overzealous new entrants, censor them for being perhaps too consummate in trying to find insane solutions, we risk throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Today's Radioactive waste in Indus is tomorrow's astute observer.

Right now, there's not even many spaces RW fellows can gather unapologetically. Why not have a space that enthusiastically welcomes them?

They'll seek out further, nuanced erudition when they metamorphose.

Also, I believe in radical democratization of knowledge. If somebody has something they think is worth sharing, I think they should. There are many sorts of audiences hiding everywhere. I don't think it's quite right some expected behaviour serving as a pre-requisite to be handed down that knowledge. But that is just me, other people's mileage may vary.

Sort of. Very closely aligned castes. I really can't tell why Brahmins in Bengal are so deracinated. To be fair, deracination can be cross caste now, so better to sound out the girl herself. If she truly is a commie liberal, she won't be able to hide it when you say right wing things.
