I will say something which most people may not agree with but India's Military Industrial Complex won't be ready until 2035 for any action of this sort.

GoI seems to be aware of this and will probably not escalate this tension much. It is in our long term interest to wait this one and strike through other means.

Yup. 2035-2040 India should be at the China late 2010s-early 2020s level. And that's when they got their J-20.

Thing is India is actually on track. It's China providing Pakistan with high level equipment which makes things muddy.

If you play strategy games, there are various "ages" you need to advance through, each of which unlocks new and advanced units. China is on a higher age than India which is on a higher age than Pak but China is providing units from its age to Pakistan which Pakistan cannot produce on their own.

But thing is there is a limit to the ages and Pakistan won't advance to the next one while India will.

Why will Pakistan have to be battle ready, when there will be no battles ?
If Indian military hasn't mobilized, why should they ? Pakistan is just moving a few tanks here and there to show its serious..
Probably, in the absence of a face saving deal, Modi might go for mobilization to buy time for an eventual face saving deal with Pakistan..
So, now we are counting on fuel reserves, foreign currency and 5 daily meetings to win the war for us..

Only a serving military general would truly know what can happen, where, and when. We can only rely on what Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said. And even if something does happen, Pakistan will likely try to hide it as much as possible, as they always do.

Very good collation of information. Some of the army equipment though can be fast tracked. I am also of the same belief that India's MIC will mature only in next 5 years.
However we still have enough resources to still beat the colonist punjabi army. Airforce will be troublesome but Army needs can be fulfilled by domestic producers to a large extent.

So, short of a full high intensity war we are better served by a limited low decibel but long war. We can fight it even today. After 2030 we can even go for a high intensity war with punjabi army without second guessing.

2035 ? , I would argue army would be alot more capable by next year, 1.5 year if we place orders for stuff like kalyani MGS and WHAP

People forget how many low hanging fruits are there, that forces still don't care about. Accelerate project kusha development and induction, order more nilgiri class frigates, procure thousands of nagastras.

All of this can be done in 5 years that would massively improve strength of forces.

I'd say somewhere till 2035-2040. Then gap will be huge. GDP differential will prolly be 16-18x and pci 3-4x.

Till then keep bleeding them with BLA, TTP, water etc. Just keep them poor.

Ofc their public get to see India succeeding in other walks of life like space missions, sports etc which reduces their morale.

IA has a long history of being surprised again and again by its enemies hence even if pakis have mobilized we still wouldn't know until they pull something off.
