It may resemble Chinese mini lunar rover Gold Toad launched last year

HELSINKI — A Pakistan-developed rover will fly on China’s Chang’e-8 moon lander mission in 2028, following an agreement between respective agencies.

The China National Space Administration (CNSA) and Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) signed a Memorandum of Understanding Feb. 5 allowing Pakistan’s first rover to fly on Chang’e-8. An agreement in principle had been announced late last year and was formally finalized during Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to China last week.

The rover will have a mass of around 35 kilograms and carry science payloads for studying lunar soil composition, radiation levels, plasma properties and testing new technologies for sustainable human presence on the Moon. It will also feature a collaborative scientific payload developed by Chinese and European researchers.

“This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Pakistan’s space programme, as Suparco’s indigenous rover will be part of the mission to explore the lunar surface,” said a press release issued by the commission, as reported by the Express Tribune.

A joint statement between the People’s Republic of China and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Feb. 6 noted that the “two sides expressed satisfaction at the existing level of cooperation in space and agreed to advance and pursue further progress in this important area for socio-economic purpose.”

The rover will take up part of 200 kilograms of payload space made available on Chang’e-8 for international cooperation via a 2023 announcement of opportunities.

Another cope mission, India did it, so we will too, except we will use a Chinese designed and built rover, place it in a Chinese lander, launch it on a Chinese rocket, paint pukistan flag on it in Chinese manufactured paint, operate it on Chinese mission computers, operated by Chinese technicians. Par flag toh pukistan ki hogi, hamari hogi, yeh lo endia sem 2 sem.

Chalo kam se kam yeh to tay hain ki moon lander chini hain. Warna wahan bhi hara rang chada dete.

Alhamdulillah!

Islamic world needs a beacon in space exploration. Turkey, UAE or Pakistan?
turkey can try and get in europe space program , UAE has money can easily hire western space agencies. what is pakistan doing here other than piggybacking chinese space program?

This is not even a cope mission. This is basically pure showbiz and nothing more. Making lunar rover is easy peasy. Many engineering schools around the world make lunar rover/lunar rover analogs as capstone engineering projects for 4th year. ofcourse they are not actually Lunar-rover worthy and the project rovers usually end up 3 times-4 times heavier ( for the same dimensions) of actual lunar rovers, but we still get it to 'do' the basics - like gather spectroscopic data, have water meter, be motorable on treads, video recorder, transmission- pretty much the whole gamut except for some of the x-ray detection stuff that is too hi-fi an equipment to build or buy in universities).

Heck my next door dude from 1st year in uni made a rover as his capstone project with 4 other engineers.
But the point is, if 21-22 year old students can make a rover that is 3-4x heavier than the real deal, to actually make a lunar rover is easy peasy for an actual high end engineer with experience.

The main deal of putting a rover on the moon, isnt the rover, its the putting part - getting there on a rocket and soft-landing.

TBH i would be shocked if the rover is actually Chinese built, i am pretty sure I can show up to pakistan and find 10 engineers who can build that rover in six months flat and get them to make that rover in another 4-5 months flat.
If Pakistan is getting a lunar rover made by China, it means Pakistan's home-grown engineering talent retention and creation is nearly nil.

Xinjiang. It has all the credentials when it becomes independent. Insha Mao SWT.
Yeah. Chinese conquered Xinjiang. It's part of central Asia. Uyghurs,Kazakhs,Mongols live in Xinjiang for centuries. But PRC conquered it for its geopolitical importance and resources. It gives PRC GREAT leverage to reach out to the backyard of the Soviet Union. Xinjiang and Tibet lay the foundation of PRC's geopolitical superiority over its neighbors. I wouldn't be surprised if Xinjiang becomes independent five hundred years later. No great power can last forever just like India got independence from the decline of the British Empire. PRC knows its weakness, now 50% of Xinjiang population are Han Chinese. Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Mongols will eventually be assimilated into Chinese.

This is a Chinese Ming Dynasty(1368-1644) map. Ming dynasty is obviously established by Han Chinese. Tibet was not part of China. Xinjiang was not part of China, Mongolia was not part of China. Ming China only controlled China Proper, Manchuria(land of Manchu people) and Yunnan (originally non-Chinese). But guess what, who would've thought six hundred years later. They're all part of China.

History of Xinjiang

~209BC~ 119 BC Part of Xiongnu Empire
~119 BC -200 AD Part of Han Empire
~200AD-618 AD Independent
~618AD-760 AD Part of Tang Empire
~760AD-1226AD Independent ruled by Uyghur Empire and west Kithan Empire later
~1226AD-1347 AD Part of Mongol Empire
~1347AD-1757 AD Independent ruled by Turkized Mongols
~1757-1911AD Part of Qing Empire
~1911AD-1949AD Independent ruled by Han Chinese warlords
~1949-Part of PRC

So from the history of Xinjiang, it is not Chinese traditional heartland. Xinjiang was intermittently ruled by various Chinese and non Chinese Empires and Independent sometimes. It's the battlefield of various great powers due to its geopolitical importance.

Xinjiang was enslaved for ~ 500 years except for brief intervals of freedom in between . The Qing actually genocided the Dzungar Mongols in Xinjiang & they were followers of Buddhism too .

Seems to me some population of Xinjiang at some point in time runs foul of the authorities for no fault of theirs , like the Dzungar Mongols ran afoul of the Qing Dynasty &now we've the Uighur on the wrong side of the CCP.

It's high time they got their independence from the CCP. Besides I see you're back to old habits of spamming this forum once again like last time by quoting your own posts repeatedly in different answers. Why don't you exercise the Edit function ? Or are you still undergoing therapy ?
