Yes, people forget this aspect of the Gulf War.

Another way to look at the first gulf war (something i lived through as a youngster right from the periphery in 'safer Sheikdoms'): That Iraq despite being in a HOPELESS situation, took on Unkil and his ENTIRE grand coalition, who put out nearly 2000 planes against Iraq, outnumbering them nearly 3:1, shot out the same number of planes as India did against Pakistan in her crushing victory in 1971.

And most of these losses came during operation desert storm phase. This *IS* a good showing by all metrics given the disparity, given that Iraq's combat aicrafts were ALSO outnumbered effectively 5:1, because the vast majority of the coalition aircradts were combat (air superiority & strike fighter) aircraft, while half of Iraq's air assets were combat aicrafts, numbering around 400, of which more than 1/4th fled to Iran ( Iraq donated like 120 or so fighter planes to Iran- they ran the fuck away).

So with such minimal air cover, that too by an air force that didnt really exist ( you dont really exist when you are outnumbered 5:1 and you are entire generation or two behind in the non stealth aircrafts) - the heavy lifting was most likely done by AD.
Which...is a decent showing because iraq's AD coverage and depth was nowhere comparable to Ukraine either.

Then suddenly you learn that Russia is fighting with meat. There is not enough of its own meat and they started buying North Korean.

The Russian Ministry of Defence and state-run news agency TASS said on Tuesday that Ukraine's armed forces had suffered more than 900,000 casualties, including both dead and wounded, since the war began 1,000 days ago.

According to TASS calculations and the ministry, this year alone, Ukraine's losses have surpassed those from the first two years of the conflict combined, with total losses for Kiev put at 906,500 dead and wounded.

Casualty figures in such conflicts generally cannot be independently verified. Neither Moscow nor Kiev have so far disclosed exact numbers regarding their respective losses.

The Ukrainian Rosomak APC fires Mk 310 PABM-T programmable projectiles from a 30mm Mk44 Bushmaster II automatic cannon. Before feeding the projectile into the barrel, a special programmer, through the receiving coil, enters into the fuse electronics the distance at which the main charge of the projectile should be detonated.

Russia does have the larger population, so that can't be the reason not to have N. Koreans. It's simple, they have them because they can. It helps and there is no good reason not to invite their help. Lets say they fight until all of them are killed, well that means there are 11,000 less Russian deaths. Don't over think the simple things.

11,000 Koreans is a test batch. If the experiment is successful, they will send more.
Do you think Putler cares about nationality? He simply cannot gather the required number of Russians.
But with the invention of the machine gun, quantity does not matter. What matters is the quantity of weapons. Today, the Russians have a problem with this. It is similar to ours, but we have different philosophies of warfare. We do not throw unarmed soldiers into battle (only with an assault rifle or a machine gun).
Incidentally, licensed production of the BREN 2 began on Wednesday.
