Suggestions

It's wonderful to see threads growing slowly.

Should some important threads be pinned? Like the indo pak ones, so that other threads do not cover them up
Yes let us know the threads which need to be pinned

@SKC ; @Suryavanshi ; @hit&run

I tried quoting #32 for the post I made in #33 in the Chinese Economy Thread but the site refused to respond giving the reason as enclosed in the SS above.

Frankly there's no way the quoted post & my response would exceed the 10k word limit .

Finally I had to delete the quoted post & only post my response.

Request you gentlemen to look into the matter .
Try again I have changed it to 25000 characters

My suggestions to the administrators of DFB.
  • To be a bit more tolerant towards non-Indians/foreigners (even if they are Pakistani, Chinese, Russians, Ukrainians, American, Britishers etc).
  • On DFI very few non-Indians were allowed to post a significant amount of posts before being banned but ofcourse they deserved the ban because they invited trouble towards them because they were banned on the grounds of several violations of the rule and conduct of the DFI.
  • On the "MiG-21 shoots down F-16" Thread in DFI, we had a Pakistani (I think he had a Qatari Flag) user by the name of "Sayaaf" who was tolerated for a very long time before being banned. His posts are still visible in DFI, unlike most other Pakistanis whose every post has been nuked from the forum.
  • I have seen very few Pakistanis and Chinese be given long ropes before being banned.
  • When it comes to issuing bans to users, I am pleased to say that our forum DFI was much better than PDF.
  • I do not know about Sino Defence Forum though as I have only visited the site two or three times and that too very briefly so I can't comment about them. Nor other forums such as F.16.net or Russia Defence.
  • On PDF, you would get instantly banned if you do not accept the Pakistani narrative and unlike DFI, you will be insulted on grounds of skin colour, nationality. It's not the case on DFI where members irrespective of nationality are able to have as much of a civil debate as possible and I hope the same level of tolerance will be shown on DFB.
  • Why do I say that we should have a few Pakistani and Chinese posters (at least not the spam bot types who will post 100s and 100s of posts in one day)? Because when we debate with these users, we get to know what arguments they put forth. Every topic has only a definite number of arguments and counter-arguments.
  • Those who have taken Maths as a subject in their 10+2 (XI & XII) must have studied the topic of probability. And if they studied probability then they would know what a probability experiment and consequently what a sample space is.
  • By definition, an experiment is defined as: "A process or trial with uncertain results. Examples include coin tossing, card selection, or rolling a die."
  • And a sample space is defined as: "Set of all possible outcomes in a probability experiment. For instance, in a coin toss, it’s “head” and “tail”.
  • Same way you can consider the skirmish "Swift Retard" as an experiment and all the arguments that the Pakistanis can throw at us with respect to this event can be countered. So while there will be a lot of arguments, it won't be infinite, every time a Paki comes here and argues with us on the topic of Swift Retard, he is giving us a new outcome (argument) from the sample space (all possible arguments pertaining to Swift retard") of the experiment (Swift Retard") and accordingly we can counter it.

That said, let's try and make this forum the best DF after DFI and carry forth the legacy of DFI! Hope to learn a lot from you all! Jai Hind.

What's wrong in being the bharatiya version of Stormfront?

My humble suggestion, assuming this hasn't already been done, is to ensure that folks running DFB talk behind the scenes to folks who owned DFI and learn from them exactly what kind of thing the enemies of our forum are targeting. Which legal instrument, etc. So that members here can be informed on what specific things to avoid in their posts.

DFI's nuking came as a bolt from the blue to me, mere minutes ago. Still haven't digested it. I think all members need to do our part to ensure this forum doesn't go down to similar antics of the OPFOR. I know people liked to vent on DFI, but we can't do that here until we know what we are dealing with. I think better to vent on Western SM like x/twitter and getting your account banned rather than getting a forum like DFB banned. It feels like the OPFOR has learnt the method to take down forums like this in their DFI case, so this time, they'll be quick to act.

Almost all the current administrators are free-speech absolutists. No user will be perma-banned for holding any opinions, even far-left ones. Just convey any opinion in acceptable language, and it'll be fine.

What exactly do you mean by "Bharatiya version of StormFront"?
Stormfront is a racist website for white nationalists. I was alluding to that. Of course, I don't endorse racism. By Western standards am a negro. But I see nothing wrong in calling a negro a negro and a caucasian a caucasian. Anyway, off topic.
But All I am saying is that as members of this forum, we need to ensure that this forum be as user-friendly for Indians as well as for non-Indians too, we should attract traffic from outside as well in my opinion
Frankly I do not wish to attract any traffic from other countries. This is not Facebook. This is defence forum for discussion on defence topics made by bharatiyas for bharatiyas. So, while all are welcome, I wouldn't say we are exactly open borders.

On theme, while blue on black looks dainty, wonder if we could have a red on black or gold on black.

Latest XenForo update broke the theme colors

Figuring it out

Seems to have worked but the text has become too white against he black. Check the text on the right, if you can keep that colour it will be easier on the eyes to read.
