Survive from whom. Why would Russia would want to attack euro ?

If Europe was smart they would've developed co-dependency with Russia as their biggest strategic partner

Post WWII, there was no European power left standing, so the US moved in and virtually colonized them. They haven't been able to move out of that control.

Ideally, yes, it would make sense for Europe to co-operate with Russia and ask the US to f-off.

Especially after the collapse of USSR, Europe should have hedged and diversified. They could have reaped the benefits of cheap energy, resources and labor, and could have turned into one hell of an economic superpower.

They are already an economic superpower but if they had followed the steps that you are suggesting they would have been a superpower.. period .

I doubt they are an economic superpower. The richest EU country has less per capita than the poorest US state. If not for US babysitting them for decades, they would have gone bankrupt a long time ago. They are a terminally sick power who will fade into insignificance as the Asian powers rise. A few decades from now, they will be like African or South American countries of today who have no or minimal impact on the world. Plus their demographics have had a frightening change, and all the signs point to a sharia sh.thole in the near future!

If you think about it from their perspective, they were devastated post WWII and probably afraid of another expansionist power, which could only be USSR in the continent. They compromised economy for security. They have had 80 years to course correct and they haven't.

The orange orangutan now threatens Samsung.

For that EU should have been a united, sovereign power.
It is only a collection of US vassals today and will be in the future too.
Only France has some freedom and is a proper definition "ally" but they are too weak to wrest control of Europe from the Shaitan -e- Bozorg.

If they were fully buddy buddy with Russia, and Russia joined the EU they would be a superpower with Russian dominance over the bloc
