It was already known that 13.4% of Americans work directly for the government. But it turns out a huge number of the 12.8M non-profit workers are also subsisting entirely off government grants, so the real total could be 24%…. and that doesn’t even include fake consultants/contractors for stuff like DEI, development aid, etc that are “for-profit” but only have a single client

Hopefully The Donald doesn't do that in spite of whatever differences the US has with the EU for the simple reason both EU & the US need to combine strategies to take Chinese trade practices head on & I expect this is pretty much how things will unfold.

The US under Trump will have differeces with Europe on NATO & the war in Ukraine & that's something they'd have to work out to reach terms.

Nah. I want Modi to be smart like 11 pingpong or his predecessor Hu Jintao : do some randi-rona in a couple of months, spend a couple of million in Canadian media for PR and then swoop in and buy rights to minerals/mining for next 50 years in several rich blocks like Cheen did.

Once u go the 'tere ghar me ghus gaya ab kyaa' move, like China did to Canada, its checkmate Canada and Canadians will resort to becoming paltu kuttas of India, the way they have become of China and USA. This is the way to go. Sanction on Canada doesnt hurt Canada vis-a-vis India : our trade is too small, all we are doing is lowering our chances of exploiting the vast resources in canada.

Inshallah, it will happen. He is following through on almost every promise he made during the elections and the EU is his next target due to the massive deficit they run with them and the whole Greenland issue which he'll use as cover/excuse to pound the EU. Germ economy in all likelihood will get hammered.

India is probably on that list too, somewhere down though.

It should happen, EUropoids are as it is reeling from being forced to not use Putin's Gas and Putin's Oil, Trump's tariff war will finally break their backs.

Which should make them more amenable towards an FTA with us :troll:

Hopefully our suit-wearing clowns for once push exports of our goods rather than of our people.

This is actually a golden opportunity to sign trade deals with all those affected by Dolund's gaze.

Do you guys know the reason China's taken a huge lead in EV tech which obviously is all about Li ion battery tech & battery chemistry in spite of this tech being innovated in the west ?

It's coz the green lobby is so strong there that activities like Fracking , Mining etc are not just frowned upon there're actually laws in place to make it as difficult as possible . This is more true of places like Canada than it is in the US though the latter faced huge issues from the environment lobby on the issue of Fracking too.

Check out for how much crude oil & natural gas Canada's churning out in spite of huge reserves. Pierre Poilievre has gone on record to criticise Turdeau's policies in this matter rendering Canadian oil sales hostage to the US in his own words instead of exploiting it to meet the global demand & satisfy European needs.

Bottom line - for Canada to get into that shape of mind they'd have to severely damage their economy leaving them with no option but explore exploitation of natural resources in a big way which is more likely the scenario Germany would find itself in by the end of this decade .

Right now Canada's no way close to that scenario though admittedly Turdeau's badly damaged the Canadian economy.
