He knew that J Edgar Hoover, the head of FBI, was a cross-dressing pedophile and was gonna fire him for it.
This is why the assassination was so 'it must happen now, even if its the most visible place on the planet and makes for terrible optics' and not 'he fell off his boat while fishing'.

Is that so? cause I always thought JFK's assassination was linked to the failure of the Bay of Pigs invasion and his decision not to give full support to the CIA during the Cuban Missile Crisis
