Except for one occasion in 1999 Kargil when IAF had Russian BVR AAM on the Migs which then PAF did not, PAF has always been a step ahead in terms of tech, thanks to Unkil Sam's or Xi's largesse. They had BVR range advantage both in 2019 Nowshera and Op Sindoor. Our effin ROE made this asymmetry worse than it needed to be. I still think they will go ahead with the J35s which will give them bragging rights on social media and convince their buffoon populace. India will once again play catchup and procure something (most likely Su57) on an emergency basis and probably in limited numbers. For all its faults, Su57 maybe more than a match for any Chinese J20 or J35, and that should alleviate the problem in the interim.

Su57 is no match for j35,j20 as it doesn't have long range bvr like pl17,pl21 etc maybe an improved version of aesa based r37 can do but export version rvv is just 200km.

Only indian Tejas mk1a,mk2 with long range astra 2,astra 3 can match that.

The acquisition time frame is very fast for them . I had heard about j10 purchase in 2022 . They are now going to buy 60 j10 . Now you can compare the same for ATAGS and rafale . Cabinet approval for AMCA also took so much time . Regarding SU57 it does nt give me much confidence against chinese stealth jets . It got only frontal stealth , does nt have das eot . Any acquisition as of now will take minimum 5/6 years . It's better to work on domestic projects .

I think eventually poqees will get J-35 but not before chinis get thr numbers up,
so probably we are looking early 2030s…

By that time if we choose SU-57 the local production could also start or may be more Rafale if we are not much concerned about chini sleath and wait for AMCA

Where do porkis get the money to get even a squadron of 6th gen fighters, even if Chinese maal or Turkish KAAN? Not just that, new network terminals, satellite links, ground stations etc all cost a ton of money.

"It's no match".... Oh I have heard this before, but a word of advice, until and unless it's proven in a real battle, it's all just wishful thinking. We all know what happened to pl15 when launched at D-Max. So in a highly contested battlefield pl17, pl 21, pl31, ....PLn^a all require a radar to guide it for mid course correction till it reaches its final destination otherwise it will end like pl15 and for that you need to stay in the battlefield, stick your nose up.With the stealth factor unproved,I suspect, with the Chinese jet engines, j31 and j20 has the agility to evade incoming bvr missiles. So what can j20 do, lauch the pl bvr at D-max and run, then pray for a hit.
