(Reuters) -Reliance Infrastructure (RELINFRA.NS) has partnered with France's Dassault Aviation (AM.PA) to make Falcon 2000 jets in India, the companies said on Wednesday, as the South Asian country aims to increase sourcing of locally-made defense equipment.
Dassault said it aims to deliver the first made-in-India jets by 2028 for corporate and military use, and will cater to rising demand in both Indian and international markets.
India, the world's biggest arms importer, has been looking to step up domestic production, with global firms pushed to produce in India - either on their own or in collaboration with domestic partners.
New Delhi also aims to boost defence exports, which jumped 12% in the fiscal year to end-March, to $2.76 billion.
what if the brit had defected with his f35 and wanted indian citizenship??
Where modern air warfare is headed, I think for <= 4.5 generation the significance of the platform is becoming less.Baguettes want the IAF Rafale order pretty badly to dangle all carrots like this

To me, (SU30MKI with Virupaksha radar + Astra mk2 & mk3 + Indigenous EW) or (LCA mk2 with Uttam mk2 + Astra mk2 & mk3 + IEWS) >>> Rafale currently in Indian service with spectra + meteors.

LOL.After Rafale, there is not much in the way of any new big projects for Dassault.
LOL.
In case of a SCAF failure (50% possible), Dassault already work on a plan B.
+ they probably will have a contract to study a space shuttle (a Hermes shuttle NG).
+ The work on the UCAV (for Rafale F5 and SCAF or plan B).
etc....
When you see than F16 remains on production 47 years after 1st flight, we may imagine that a so well studied jet will remain on the market after 2040.

Froggies must be asked by govt whether they are willing to sell us the M88 T-REX engine and can it be fitted in existing rafales.
This is a 90kn engine, could possibly be a replacement for the ((( GE F414 ))) that Americans will surely make us do mujra over
If U.S. doesn’t supply fighter jet engines to India, they risk losing billions of dollars to France. They were furious when India rejected the outdated F-16 and went with Rafales instead. Now France is working on a 90kN version of the M88, and India’s Kaveri engine is undergoing testing and certification in Russia. On top of that, India and France are preparing to co-develop a 110kN engine. The U.S. knows very well that India is on track to develop its own fighter jet engines, which means their window to cash in on a major engine deal is closing fast. That’s exactly why they’re shifting GE F414 production to India—because if India hands the deal to France, the U.S. military-industrial complex loses out. And losing a major arms contract with the world’s biggest weapons buyer is something Washington wants to avoid at any cost.I am not averse to buying a few more squadrons of Rafale. But no ToT source codes and weapons integration is a questionable choice.
We need a 5th gen stop gap till the paper plane AMCA enters service 15 years from now. The Russian deal with full ToT, source code and local manufacturing needs to be seriously considered. It will help our engine development too.
With thr way things are going with the Americ**ts, it will be foolhardy to rely on their engines for future Tejas versions and the AMCA. The fickle scoundrels are no allies, they will stop supplies at the drop of a hat if things go south.
Hopefully the idiot Putin will stop his pointless war soon and get sanctions lifted as a precondition to 'peace' so that we can do business with them

Do you really imagine russia (or USA or GB or France) giving you all the source code ???I am not averse to buying a few more squadrons of Rafale. But no ToT source codes and weapons integration is a questionable choice.
