From the Battle of Stalingrad (July 1942 to February 1943)

The Germans adapted a simple defense of fixing wire nets over all windows to protect themselves from grenades. The Soviets responded by fixing fish hooks to the grenades so they stuck to the nets when thrown.

Couple of random thoughts scrolling through the photos posted here:
1) I find the new "digital" cammo is absolute garbage at least aesthetically, compared to even the old camo (and I suspect has it doesn't have any special technical features either). Some folks were pretty impressed when this was first unveiled, wonder if they have changed their minds now with time.
2) Seeing that Sig battle rifles anyways aren't issued with sights or at best have (1x) red dots, & AK-203s (7.62 "stopping power") have been ordered - what was the point of the follow on Sig order?

- first one is subjective, camo looks different based on the camera/mobile camera lens and processor, and lighting conditions. only those who have seen the camo with naked eye in appropriate conditions can say how effective it is.

- Indian defence procurements are going as per priority list of backlogs, some of the backlogs are two three decades old. both sigs and ak's have picatinny rails, because this was what IA wanted to achieve first. service wide optics will come later, but for now commanders can go ahead and procure optics as per their own requirements.

- other than drones which came out of syllabus, almost every other force wide procurement is going as per sequence of SQR/AoN pipeline.
