I actually expect BJP to perform worse than last time in the upcoming bengal Elections. Last time was basically the dead cat bounce or the final adrenaline fuelled push by hindus in Bengal.

My gut instinct is this is case of shadow boxing or what we know in Hindustani as Noora Kusthi.

What I mean by this is there's some sort of a backroom deal struck between both the SC & the GoI going by which a few controversial provisions like the appointment of non Muslims to the Waqf Board would be struck down whereas the trade off could be some other hugely controversial position which the BJP couldn't incorporate within the Act due to objections by their allies would find a back door entry into this Act courtesy the judiciary.

The reason I think this is the case is coz the higher judiciary has in the recent past come up with a slew of judgements against the over reaching provisions of the previous Waqf Act or more specifically those provisions which lent themselves to abuse actually asking the GoI of the day to amend said provisions of the Act.

Secondly , if you've observed the reaction of the GoI & the ruling party to the recent scandal of Justice Yeshwant Verma & the way the SC especially the so called collegium has handled the case , it's very telling. There's not been a peep out of the former. A compromised judiciary always serves the interests of the government of the day .

However these are my speculations on this issue as of now . Let's see how the SC finds on the issue which we'd get to know in a few years from now.

I don't think MoSha make a move without proper assessment of the counter actions. They have taken every possibility into account before moving ahead with this decision. SC has been quite favourable to Mudi on most big decisions like the Rafale deal, Triple Talaq, Art 370 etc, Ram Mandir etc. All these actions seemed impossible at the time of reckoning

Per their track record, with giving their assent to 370 Gaya and Mandir Wahi Banega, I think a back-door deal has been reached here too for the Milauds to not interfere with waqf amendment.

So no need for tension.
