If that ever happens there definitely won't be protests especially if Republicans lose by tiny margin, there will be massive upheaval. Trump supporters will be ready with their guns. There is already lot of demographic shift happening in many swing states. If that comes to pass then Republicans can never win white house. Trump breaking the blue wall was a miracle in itself even if it was marginally in 2016. Let's assume Kamala wins and democrats keep winning till 2032, how long White supremacists and extremist Christians who are team red will tolerate sitting in opposition? Electoral collage is the only reason republicans have a shot at white house. From India's perspective I want Trump to win so they focus their energies on containing Trump. Although, I am very skeptical of him leading US into war if Chinese ever make a move on Taiwan. He will definitely indulge in trade war with the Chinese for sure. in presidential elections, electoral college makes sense. Because it mimics the parliamentary district based system in a poorer fashion ( hence why i think presidential system elections of US are inherently inferior to Indian elections). You dont want a president who wins by class-concious voting of LA-NYC-Dallas anymore than you want a gormint who won by winning Delhi+mumbai+kolkata etc.

If you want FPTP to be the presidential election system, then a multi-round based French one is more robust than Murrican one. At least the winning candidate can show majority in multiple steps more often than not.

Trump will jump at a chance with a controlled war with China.
Trump is a shady businessman who is barely competent in business as his first avatar in life. So chaos of war is a near-perfect scenario for a dude like trump to siphon $$ into his pocket. He may not succeed in said siphoning, coz well, competency and all, but that is definitely something he'd try and want.

Just like how Red states continue to push back against this right now under the Dems, Blue states will continue with this even under Trump.
A (reverse) Roe v Wade style judgement is needed to restrict all gender based transitions until 18 yrs age. But given the current Supreme Court, it is extremely unlikely.

The bigger danger right now is expanding the Supreme Court and packing it with more judges that favor this ideology.
