I don't understand why Indians unnecessarily celebrate events that have little to no relevance to their lives. This excessive jubilation over Indian-origin individuals becoming CEOs or political leaders in foreign countries needs to stop. These individuals won't necessarily extend special favors to India. Rishi Sunak, for example, was no different from his predecessors like Boris Johnson or David Cameron. Similarly, the Indian-origin Prime Ministers of Ireland and Portugal have not deviated significantly from their predecessors in their relationship with India.

False equivalence and no, it's not even close. Lot of independent investigations - like hell any MSM will admit to it - and anecdotal evidence points to the fact that it was likely the case and not just some 'conspiracy theory', unless one is willing to admit that it is a theory based on pretty compelling evidence and hard to disprove of a conspiracy that actually took place.

The US has had 3 extremely close elections in the past 60 years going back to the JFK vs RMN saga in the the 1960 elections & the 2000 election between George W Bush vs Al Gore & the one in 2020 depending on the PoV one holds.

Both these results weren't decided at the ballot box but by the fact that the candidates conceded the election. Nixon in 1960 & Gore in 2000. Since there was no reform in the electoral process it was only a matter of time before you had a candidate who'd not play ball & concede. That happened in 2020 .

Do we see any demand for electoral reforms ? Perhaps , from the intelligentsia which we're unaware of sitting where we are. There's none from the political parties. In fact I was shocked to learn sometime back they don't have an equivalent of the ECI . All elections are conducted by state authorities governed by state law which differs from state to state. Evidently US politics doesn't see this as an area requiring reform.


This sets the stage for something terrible to occur in the future since what began as a rupture in society courtesy the counter culture movement etc in the 1960s has now turned into a full fledged divide with no signs whatsoever these divides are going to be bridged.
