"barely won" has been the state of democracy here for the past like 20-30 years, coalition govts were the mainstream.
This only changed in 2014 and 2019 where's Modi's BJP went beyond the majority mark by itself

240 is still a very solid performance. The most a single party has managed to win in over 3 decades - barring, 2014 and 2019, that is!

It needs a context. Except Modi, no other leader covid and post covid has come back to power. Except probably Macron. And that too despite a anti incumbency of last 10 years. Despite a united opppositon, foreign interference, attack on all sides. This is nothing but a miraculous victory.

People need to understand that no other national leader would have survived post covid.

BJP is a 240 seat party, there is no ass licking, there is saam, daam, dandh and bedh.

Cong is 97 seat party, there is a lot of ass licking and ass blasting with alliance buddies who have the other ~150 or so seats, 35 more needed to become govt so imagine...

Major Alliance buddies include Uddhav Sena, Power NCP, TMC, DMK, SP and the Coomie grouping

BJP has a gaggle of 1-2 seat party allies and the Paswan-putra with 5 seats for a total of 21 extra seats, these are all their pets and kept in place

There's Nitishwa's party with 12 seats

Naidu's party with 16 seats

Eknath Sena with 8 seats iirc, but this is a "controlled" party

these all make a total of 293 govt, 275 is majority mark

Nitish can leave tomorrow and nothing will change.

Naidu for now is happy with the gibs AP is getting and is buddy buddy with Govt.
Naidu also has the benefit here of being the VVIP alliance member as compared to Cong so he can ask for the best gibs and it will be provided.

"barely won" doesn't apply here at all.

And they won't stay put with 240, they are going to flip the MPs from MH, UP and other states and win by-polls bit by bit, piece by piece till they reach close to 275
