HAL intends to start production of Tejas Mk2 after completing production of 180 Tejas Mk1A. So far zero Mk1A have been completed. HAL is aiming for the capacity to assemble 24 units of Mk1A each year. Starting Mk2 production in 2029 is therefore impossible unless the number of Mk1A to be produced is cut back severely. The article omits mentioning that.

Starting test flights with the first Tejas Mk2 prototype in March 2026 is possible but it needs to be noted that it was scheduled to roll out in 2022, then in 2023, then in 2024 and I believe is currently scheduled to roll out in 2025.

So far the roll-out has been just rolling on the floor laughing

MK2 sits a little low in terms of endurance and payload compare to both, but Block 52 doesn't even have AESA radar. And not much info about J10C leaks out of China, so we don't know it's engine performance, crash rate, availability rate etc. It has AESA radar, but Chinese and export tier.

I think you got the other way around. Much better than j-10c and at par with F-16 block 52 or higher

J10 is delta wing with canard, Better arrangment of avionics, use composite material. More range.

Tejas MK2 will have everything except range and payload.

F-16 is technically equal to mig-29.

But the discussion is about blk 52. Which is pretty inferior to J10C and as a result inferior to Tejas mk2.

Block 72 F16V, though, is a completely different discussion.
