ADA Tejas Mark-II/Medium Weight Fighter

we have one prototype frame certified for RD-33 when O G F404 deal was hanging by a thread, they even ground tested it and certified its inlets for that engine, it's now catching dust in HAL bangalore's museum
(either KH-2001 or KH-2002)
so, some work was already done in that regard, they can resume it with all modern things in mind, it's time that RD-33 ground tested + air inlets certified airframe to be returned to HAL guys

Maiden flight approaching for India’s Light Combat Aircraft Mk2 fighter

India’s Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) is targeting the end of 2025 or beginning of 2026 for the first flight of the new Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk2.

Speaking with FlightGlobal at the Aero India air show in Bengaluru, LCA Mk2 project director V Madhusudana Rao says construction of the first prototype is underway, and that over 55% of the required parts have been manufactured.

The first prototype’s wings and forward fuselage are almost ready, with activities related to the manufacture of the centre fuselage already completed and production of the rear fuselage to commence shortly.
Rao says the ADA has six F414 INS-6 engines, which have been modified and qualified for use on prototype aircraft. He notes the complete propulsion system was integrated and tested on a ground testbed for the first time in January.

Backup of Entire IAF section is saved on my system. Don`t know how I can share it though. Since it`s offline, search is not working, so did a cursory check with browser search and what I could find is pasted below

Let's just leave where it is. RD-33 was never gonna make it to LCA. IAF's maintenance record with RD-33 would've crashed half the MK1s by now.

RD-93 has modified gearbox, moved to the bottom. so we will have to modify the aft fuselage anyway.

India operates an abysmal procurement system, so bad that the IAF has been starved of fighters. Successive governments have clung onto a state-owned monopoly in fighter production. Now there is serious talk of involving the private sector in fighter production since the IAF, already down to around 30 squadrons (instead of the 42 sanctioned) will need to retire at least a dozen more fighter squadrons in coming years. IAF will need hundreds of fighters to reach 42 squadron level. There is no real prospect of HAL, India's sole existing fighter supplier, 'delivering the goods'.

L&T, a large Indian private player already supplying wings for the Tejas Mk1A,, has expressed an interest in producing fighters, until now the preserve of HAL. The shortage of fighters promises to become so acute that it is speculated that perhaps 300 Tejas Mk2 could be ordered, representing at least $20 billion in business just for the flyaway aircraft. With that number of frames involved good economies of scale could be harvested and a good profit made by L&T. India could even become a net exporter of fighters!

From Indian media, so of dubious accuracy:

We're ultimately gonna make some more compromise, to get the deal done.
That's what will happen.

The source you've quoted isn't mainstream media , it's a discussion board like ours.
