Then why should have such a manpower in the services.. only for show-casing... for distribution of revenue only...
We have our army to deter the enemies from untoward adventure against our territorial rights. 1962 shows why a nation should always be prepared for war even when it doesn't have an expansionist ideal in its mind.
That 'man power' as you called prevented wars and loss of territory after 1962.
Yes, India can demolish BD armed forces within a week without even a single infantry man crossing into BD territory through missiles and airforce. But would a state if war benefit India in response to stupid monkey dancing by an illegitimate 'government' in BD? Who will bear the cost of billions of $ in weapons and tens of billions of $ in economic loss without counting the diplomatic set backs? The illegitimate Yunus and his jehadis will actually be able to justify their propaganda and India will have 100% B'deshis as permanent supplier of jehadis.
India is biding its time. BD economy is crumbling and once BDeshis lose jobs and economic hope, Yunus and his jehadi cronies will be lynched by the BDeshis. Now India is effectively cutting BD's economic knees by causing havoc to the textile sector. BDesh's only value has been its heap textile production and once it is gone, BD effectively will be a pauper once again.
There's a saying that best win in a war is when the victory comes without firing a single shot.
Only a fool thinks that all wars are fought on a battle field with lethal weapon. Economy is a far deadlier weapon because bullet fired from a real gun may kill the enemy, but bullet fired from an economic gun may kill generations of enemies.
If you doubt that, check Porkistan. Even when the porks have favourable geographical location, they are barely surviving today. BD doesn't even have a geography that might make anyone to take an interest in it.
