I won't hide my feelings. I had a good laugh watching mangus slamming that desk in frustration. It was such a good game. As chess players Magnus and Hikaru are great stalwarts of the game, nobody will ever deny that. Heck I was a magnus fan for quite while. But man those guys can be one of the worst drama queens. Especially Magnus, he is one of the biggest a*sh*e out there in the way how he treats his adversaries. So I had immense satisfaction when he lost to Gukesh.

Gukesh has bulldozed Magnus just now in one of Gukesh's weaker formats i.e Rapid where each player gets only 20 mins.

Not just that, Gukesh won 5 out of 6 games after losing his first game.

Those 5 players he beat aren't any random players, all 5 are rated top 10 in the world.

Gukesh beat World no 1, 3, 4, 7 and 8 in 5 straight games in a format where Gukesh is weaker.

gukesh wins proof ego can only makes u fool. untill now gukesh is ahead of magnus by 2:1. but we saw many times magnus belittle gukesh. there was no necessary to beahavie like that when u achieved so much in chess. neither we saw gukesh ever insult or belittle magnus. even if u r best chess player, u should not belittle other young chess player. many indians supported magnus behaviour against gukesh. thats how great player falls from their top seat nd newbie take their crown.

You can clearly sense Jealousy.
Gukesh at 18 is ahead of Magnus at 18 with a lot of space for improvement.

Magnus knows Gukesh is coming to the throne and is a bit rattled.
After all, this guy reigned the chess world for a decade and now a young teenager is storming in.

Gukesh is considered weak in blitz and rapid but very strong in classical . Even earlier Magnus said something like " he is nt surprised at all " when performance of gukesh in blitz/rapid was nt that impressive .. He said Gukesh works too hard but lacks intuition. And indeed Gukesh works very hard waking up at 4 am everyday .

But people must not forget Gukesh is just 18 year old .. He has nt peaked yet. You never know when a 18 might pull some surprise and he did in this case .
