segregation of garbage ? as in sort out your recycling from compost etc ?
Yes. They call it wet waste and dry waste. Watch the videos I shared. It’s way more advanced than most US cities, their entire sanitation process. The city makes fertilizer and only 10% of the waste makes it to landfill, rest is recycled.

The city is also making pavers from the plastic for usage on sidewalks and roads.

actually in south kolkata, KMC has made this 'swacch bharat' initiative, where a whole bunch of workers push this metal square cart through the streets between 5am-7am, collecting all the trash on the street.
The last year i was there, i LITERALLY asked my mohollah to put more garbage bins on our street, instead of 2 at the very end of each side of the street. So we did.
Then the 'square cart people' got all whiny, about how these garbage cans are messy, it gets their hands dirty to clean them out, etc. and its just easier for us and everyone concerned to dump our trash on the sidewalk and its okay, because it will be gone the next morning as they come by their rounds.

We said 'well we dont want litter on our street for 24 hours, its better if its in a bin', so then they basically flipped out and said they wont clean the bins unless WE put garbage bags in them for easy removal and its not their job to provide garbage bags.

After 2-3 weeks of having smelly garbage cans that no one emptied, the street went back to 'dump it on the street, have it removed next day' model.

Time to fire these people and get another company that will do the job as requested.

its KMC. Kolkata Municipal Corporation. the ultimat vidhaataa in kolkata. Replace them ?? we value our lives lol.

This is one of the core reasons why we cannot improve cleanliness. We have to figure out how to tackle these recalcitrant municipal bodies and their workers.

Make Garbage collection and fine for littering and its collection privatized. Watch cities turning singapore very quickly.

leave USA, since you are the idiot who is lying straight up about murrica again.

Dude. I didn't talk about America. I brought up Canada because your flag on your profile is Canadian, and you seem hell bent on defending India with personal affronts rather than take it as a constructive criticism. It's really not my problem that you cannot distinguish this. Introduction of third party references which have zero bearing on the issue is also not my problem, but is common amongst Indians. I've seen it on Twitter and I've now directly experienced it here. I was called an "anti national" because I talked about how dirty India is. Lol, what?

You literally brought up USA and Canada when comparing medical fees with India, dude.
Like wtf.
Its not constructive criticism, when its flat out false, as stated. You see this on twitter is because you are the kind of liar/moron who LITERALLY criticises India on an objectively false premise BY comparing it with US/Canada (by saying its not so bad here), and then getting called out for being objectively false.
I guess you are either dumb or hater enough to not see this.

I know you will run away from this, just as you ran away from 'hygenie of Indian accomodation for tourists for $50 vs murrica' comparison YOU made and then got proven false. But it is ALSO an objective fact that Indian healthcare of quality is MUCH MUCH more affordable for the Indian poor than murrican one is for the murrican poor. I know, coz i use/have used both (including the canadian one, amongst others).
The only thing USA has better than India re: healthcare, is accessibility of it. Thats it. Quality and price, India is by far the better choice for all proven medical practices, with US and a few other countries being better if you wanna go down the route of cutting edge experimental medical procedure, such as a friend of mine getting her liver regrown from just a tiny fraction of it etc. in the UBC hospital. That is an objective fact. Now you will run from this too, then whine some more being butthurt for being called out for saying BS again.

"what about Canada? What about America? What about China? What about Israel? Da joos!"

Lol. That was like 100 posts ago, and in the CONTEXT of which it was brought up, it was related to the quality of care. Because some idiot (could have been you) was boasting again about how much better everything is in India.

I don't know if you people have this in India but in the US we have something called "book reports" where you have to read a book and provide an analysis on the meaning of the book. Some people, and these are modern journalists, would take random quotes and interpret them with some complete ridiculous meaning. The teachers would normally ask them to go back and explain the quote within the frame which it was said.

I don't think you understand this concept though.

You are the one who is bringing in USA and Canada and i am saying your comparisons are wrong.
So stop with that, its pretty simple.
quality of care is much better in India at every step of the way than USA and so is the price. As i said, unless you are going for state of the art cutting edge medical care, India has higher medical quality care and price point than murrica. I know, i use both. Have used both as recently as 15 months ago.
Murrican healthcare quality of care is shit or overpriced. Its just that simple. We find Mt Sinai level care in India for 1/5th the price. Thats an objective fact as well.
There is a reason why India and not Murrica is the prime choice of medical tourism destination for the Arab sheikhs who can shit out a billion dollars as easily as a mornings dump.

I suppose in the same vein there's a reason Indian politicians come to America for their care lol. Do you even realize what you're saying? Just stop dude. Seriously. You aren't intelligent enough to keep up with this. I'm not being racist (I'm literally ethnically Indian). I'm just telling you the truth.

Had you really been a physician who know healthcare properly you would never had made an example out of Indian politicians visiting US and the comparison between Indian and US healthcare system.

We have seen some of the biggest industrialists ,film stars ,politicians and their relatives visiting US for treatment and then comparing India Vs US healthcare. I don't think Indians will ever like the healthcare system in US.

Can you tell us the cost of a Cesarean section surgery in US ? Or the charges of an endoscopy ?

How do the outcomes compare? That's what's important. Not the cost. I can probably get a $5 surgery in India, but will I die during the procedure? Within 30-days after the procedure? It's not even directly relevant to my original point. "what about this? what about that? what about this? what about that?"
