Glorious past and now literally in shit!
Does this gonna change much here? No.
U said conditions back then and now. If people are really into the same interest as progress and self improvement, things would be much better.

If somebody point out this and requirement of keeping our surroundings clean, people’s ego gets bursted and we will see comments like above.

Do you have anything to make India like above?
No,
You only want to live in past and some economic numbers meanwhile literally every Indian street is dirty unclean.

Whole world is mocking us.
Oh no, we can shut their mouth and attack them on social medias. What a strategy. Instead accept it, address the issue and work on to change it. You don’t need to be a trillion economy to keep our surroundings clean, to behave responsibly, to have civic senses.

Japan is a highly industrialised and a developed high income economy, and has been so for many decades. It is obvious they will be far better than a lower middle income economy like India with very large population. Interesting enough, most of their population is Buddhist.

And waste management isn't cheap, it is easy to say "keep surroundings clean" but how exactly will the waste be managed?

Things certainly are much better unless you consider the post-anglo colonial India to be some glorious land where majority of the population was illiterate, dirt poor, open defecators, starving, and chances of India balkanising were extremely high.

This is Malaysia- Kuala Lumpur, also other locations.

Is there any comparison?

See how they are attracting from that Hindu temple.
Meanwhile we have such an important place for Buddhism in India,
How we are attracting Buddhist tourists ?

Indian civic sense

You people can show some selective examples from others to counter me, but does that improve situation here? No.
Who are the losers?

Again, you can't comprehend the concept of being a high or middle or low income country. Although I do agree Indian town planning is absolute garbage and Indians lack civic sense and have pointed this out multiple times on this forum, but your point would've made actual sense if we were a high income $15,000 GDP per capita economy with shit cities and bad civic sense.

I’m ok if religious people are doing this. That’s not my primary concern.
It’s misplaced priorities of people here, giving too much importance to religion without bothering about other social aspects.

So why religious people here are not doing such things in better way, keep the place clean?
oh look...how much dirty our temple nd rivers r??? 😝😂

Japans change is not recent but been there since several decades ago.
Don’t we have examples from around the world for waste management? What our politicians and officials are doing? They know people here are don’t give a rat shyt to all these and at the end they can play religious/caste/regional cards to get votes.
If people here are aware of it and start to address the issues, things can start changing. But that also happening in very slow pace.
Agree or not?

Is that how we need to progress?
It applies to everywhere, whether it’s religion, city, region, streets, public places, public properties and so on.

For example,
If our govt is really sincere, they can implement strict rules, big fine and strict actions with govt monitoring all these. If they continue this for a decade, that will be the culture of people there.

Now tell me where it’s being implemented like that.
Singapore was 70% poor. One of the actions they made to make changes is implement strict rules and big fine. That became the culture of the people.
We can implement such in our cities. Again, nothing like that!

So you want to wait till $15000 gdp per capita?

I have another example for you!

In democracy, it requires either people or the rulers or both with awareness and sincere dedication and passion to improve.

Here we lack everywhere.

That's exactly what I said genius, they have been a rich high income developed country for nearly half a century. We are yet to breach upper-middle income barrier.

What religious card? People vote for personal gains not religion no matter how much a certain section of media projects. Having an example is not the same as being wealthy enough to have spotless waste management.
If people here are aware of it and start to address the issues, things can start changing. But that also happening in very slow pace.
Agree or not?
Yes, changes are slow and frustrating but are happening.

Nope, fining doesn't work, implementing the fines work.
Now tell me where it’s being implemented like that.

Singapore is a city-state, located in between the busiest shipping lanes of the world. They had the chance to build their city into a modern city, we didn't. We are not wealthy enough to have those ultramodern cities and demolish all slums and rebuild every square inch, it will take decades to reach developed status (if at all we'll be able to reach there) and decades to stay in the developed nation category to amass enough wealth to be like Japan/SoKo of today. It is easy for smaller countries to get rich compared to larger ones.

Easy to say "do this, do that", go try doing that actually.

Dude even African countries are moving ahead of us!

Reminds me of pakis constantly bragging about how "clean, modern and beautiful islamabad is" online

You are the one calling for India to look like high income countries without being one, so which is why I said your points would have made sense if India was a high income country and still faced the issues it does today compared to other high income countries.

That’s what I said, you don’t need to be rich to keep places clean!
Being a responsible citizen mindset is enough.
For that we need to implement strict rules and laws, and give proper education that values importance of basic disciplines.
Tell me to do this, do u need to be middle or high income country? No.

Yes religious card, whoever it is.

If it’s slow then it’s because average people are like don’t care, even so called educated people here are. Throwing waste everywhere on streets and public places.

Singapore discovered opportunities and worked on it. What’s blocking us?
To address corruption, they r giving big salary to govt employees and very strict punishment and fain if anyone conduct corruption. Why can’t we implement like that?

Yes it’s small. But we have different administrations here, they can work accordingly.

It took decades and they implemented,
Do u think with current attitude, are we gonna implement after decades?

What’s stopping from doing these?
It’s attitude of average people here.
That’s what I said, even if rulers fail to deliver, they play religious, cast regional cards to get into power.
And people r falling for it.

If people have sense to realise this, things would start changing. That also not happening. Still follow their bias.

You know the challenge one person took in Rwanda?
Find any piece of paper on road there. And he failed.

Also look at the slabs there. Broken, pieces of papers.

Yes, but again it is easier to say than to do it. A city ruined by mass migration, lack of urban planning and generally being in a lower-middle income country would be a shithole. No cope will change the reality.
Yes religious card, whoever it is.

If it’s slow then it’s because average people are like don’t care, even so called educated people here are. Throwing waste everywhere on streets and public places.
How do you judge a person to be educated?
Singapore discovered opportunities and worked on it. What’s blocking us?
Opportunities don't pop up out of thin air, what next? "Oh Saudi discovered lot's of oil what's stopping us".
To address corruption, they r giving big salary to govt employees and very strict punishment and fain if anyone conduct corruption. Why can’t we implement like that?
Yeah a city is comparable to a large country like India. "Do this do that" yawn.
Yes it’s small. But we have different administrations here, they can work accordingly.
That's precisely the problem
It took decades and they implemented,
Do u think with current attitude, are we gonna implement after decades?
They got rich a long time ago, you surely can't grasp the difference between a low income and high income country.
What’s stopping from doing these?
It’s attitude of average people here.
That’s what I said, even if rulers fail to deliver, they play religious, cast regional cards to get into power.

People aren't voting for religion lmao, BJP literally lost Ayodhya seat last year despite Ram Mandir inauguration. World doesn't work according to the fictional assumptions LeLi's cook in their minds.
If people have sense to realise this, things would start changing. That also not happening. Still follow their bias.

Yeah sure, you certainly have large sample sizes and surveys to prove that.
