Perhaps they needed a Doctor/Physician to declare him dead? Hence he probably had to be evacuated to the nearest Hospital/Medical Facility with a Doctor.

haven't you seen the old ambush videos? men quickly disperse to cover as soon as point man takes hit. the whole "suppressive fire and dragging the injured back" is a very western concept.

I don't know but my point still stands. I have come across a video in Afghanistan where usmc team came under fire while clearing a mine field. They stood ground and returned fire. The afghan local soldiers dispersed immediately. Their training is on another level.
