Cricket

That's why it is necessary to invest in

Good smooth and flowing body bowlers, who even if not having smooth bowling action atleast have lever action like Bumrah (just see his left hand how it controls him) which can help in generating good line and length.
I never liked Siraj bowling action.

Me myself being with bowling action which combined bond and Thomson when I was in my playing days knew how over the top too much generation of pace from right hand but no coordination from legs as well as left hand can generate no balls or wide..

Hilarious part is that India with MRF academy doesn't even have a genuine fast bowler now, what they do there? manufacture tyres?!

JAI HO T20 MINDSET SELECTORS KI.
We suck at managing fast bowlers. Bumrah is more of a self taught happy accident who emerged despite the system. Look at where umran Malik and Mayank Yadav are both of whom were effortlessly hitting 150kph in the IPL. Under Kohli's captaincy one good thing was we became a very potent fast bowling unit with Bumrah, Shami, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma. Even in India we were outbowling SENA teams quite comfortably. That is long past and now the well is dry. It pains to see that even in the doldrums our padosis know how to manage this critical resource better than us.

If someone asked me who would be the most average player ever to play international cricket for decades , for me it would be ravindra jadeja.
that guy peaked and ended in CT 2013. never have i ever saw him again exceling, leave one or two instances of home test series, he claimed wickets but that guy is horrible when it comes to bat.
That guy never won a single man of the series in whole career test or odi, and has been playing for over a decade. max MOM awards were all in home matches.
that guy is our premier all rounder for last 12-13 years :bplease::bplease:. keeping in mind , pandya is always in and out of the game.

Compare it with other teams - maxwell ( aus)
ben stokes ( eng)
shakib al hasan ( bang)
Jadeja the white ball player is a bum but he is one of the best all rounders to play the game in tests who is criminally underrated too. He is a big reason why we dominated at home for 12 yrs.

THERE IS NO NEED TO BRING IN FOUNDATIONAL CIVILISATIONAL VALUES LIKE DHARMA, INTO THIS DEBATE REGARDING A FOREIGN ORIGIN LEATHER BALL CHASING SILLY LITTLE GAME CALLED CRICKET, WHICH WAS ESSENTIALLY ONE OF THE TOOLS FOR EXPANDING COLONIAL INFLUENCE THEN AND NOW.

it's a nautanki, a nautanki with lots of money involved, that's about it. nautanki too needs skill, and is designed to entertain people by bringing out emotions, it's a transactional relationship.
dharma is not part of this game's lexicon, Indians involved in management and playing of game themselves do not see the need to associate concept of dharma with this game, why should we?

google "relationship between church and cricket" and "relationship between dharma and cricket", see what you get.
F.Y.I dharma and greg is a TV show which used to come on star tv in it's early days.

no problem with having highly emotional opinions on cricket, but should we use highly philosophical concepts like dharma at the service of a game that was brought in to drive a wedge between Bharat and it's civilisational roots, is something to ponder on.
Discussion is along similar lines on another cricket forum too. Team won twice in Australia previously and it didn't mean anything but defeat here means everything that represents Indianness must be subjected to intense value judgements because nation as a whole is underachieving despite being 150 cr etc. Hinduism and idol worship is why Kohli and Rohit Sharma are worshipped like rajni and srk etc etc. Which is a civilizational character flaw. I don't even know where to begin. And then some people say Indians are incapable of taking criticism lol.

That was in the pre NZ series whitewash at home. Now that's history. Wonder when was the last time we lost all the matches in a series at home.

Not in recent memory . Not even in the 90s when we were a not a strong team or certainly not as strong as compared to the current team , at least on paper as far as the latter is concerned .

Our batsmen not exactly good players of seam & pace have now forgotten to play spin that too at home. If this isn't an indication that FC matches & tournaments play little to no role in our selection & match preparations & that our test selection is largely on the basis of their IPL performance , I don't know what is ?

For example forget the others , Washington Sundar when he made his debut under exceptional circumstances in our last tour to Australia owed his selection into IPL thanks to his performance in the Ranji Trophy & since then leading upto his debut against Australia in Australia had not played a single FC match for nearly a year after that .

I wanted to ask those keeping tabs of this , hie many FC matches has he played since Jan 21 particularly let's say in the last 1 year.

Sundar is a TN regular when he is fit, fit being the operative word because he has had constant injury issues since that break out debut in 2021.
Re indian batsmen ability to play spin, apart from Pujara there is a clear drop off in spin playing ability even from the Sehwag, Gambhir gen to the Sharma, Rahane, Kohli gen never mind the Laxman, Ganguly, Azhar, Sachin gen. It's more stark now with the likes of Gill playing with hard hands and looking more like an Aus or Saf batter. The guy who has been scoring runs for fun in Ranji for many years but was not getting a look in ie Sarfaraz Khan because of his fitness himself looked all at sea in the Nzl series you mentioned. Rajat Patidar is a mainstay for MP and would've been responsible for a home defeat against England last year itself because of how pathetic he was until he was dropped and Jurel shone,a guy who was more renowned for his exploits with Rajasthan royals rather than UP and only got a look in because Pant was injured and the keeper we chose to replace him with was a complete liability with both bat and gloves. It stands to reason that we need to pay attention to domestic stats but it is not enough in and of itself, you need to subject some players to an 'eye test' too like Reddy and back them to succeed based on what you have seen even in other formats.

Cricket - India - Australia

The senior cricket players have let Indian team down. They need to be sent to retirement and not to be remembered in the future. They forgot that it is not only the match which they were consistently loosing but prestige of 1.4 Billion people back at home was also at stake.

It is time to deal a big blow to the senior non performing players including the coach. They should be dismissed. The Kohli/Rohit should not return to first class cricket including IPL. Gambhir summarily thrown out as non performing.

This is how team owners deal with lost series in America. The coach and assistant coach are summarily sent home. Non performing players just get traded away at a lower value or leave.

Sir, as you are in the West, particularly close to the USA, could you please inform some of the delusional people here about how seriously sports are taken in the West?

How much is it embedded in their lives?
I am aghast when I see people here demeaning the "confidence" that good sports performance brings to the national psyche.

Hardik Pandya once said that India can field 3 teams simultaneously.

Well it is actually a very good decision to be there. Instead of finding stars for Marketing. BCCI can build three core teams which can excel in 3 formats. No need to put an T20 batter in an Test/ODI or an Test batter in t20.

Eg. KL - Test and ODI.
Sanju Samson - T20 and ODI
Abhishek Nayar - T20

Core players across formats can win trophies rather than bringing the same set of players to work in 3 formats again and again.

some people were saying pitch is minefield:pop2::pop2:. every pitch is minefield for indian batters only. remember travis head's final knock? they play like t20 on so called minefields .:bplease:
