• Barak-8 : Pretty well documented.
• VL-SRSAM : Basically an Astra with folding fins.
• QR-SAM : Now from here things get interesting; QR-SAM is what you get by mating an Astra seeker (178mm) with a Barak-8 motor (225mm), hence it has a peculiar taper near the ogive where the Astra section is added. So in short, it's a Barak-8 without any Israeli involvement. Which also means that the initial range of 80km, that was later corrected to 30km because "it was a typo"...was indeed true; with a two stage Barak-8 motor this can easily reach 80km.
Nice to see us becoming Murica in downplaying specs.
• Akash-NG : Most probably a clean sheet design without using any existing rocket motors as the diameter is speculated to be 250mm. Should be a 100km-ish SAM if a two stage motor is used; also by the schema (simple design, lack of TVC) it looks like the priority is low cost so that the magazine depth can be increased; it might end up being our primary ADS missile with thousands procured.

• Kusha M-1 : Now there is no data point to base this on and it's just my theory; but it feels like Kusha M-1 is either Akash-NG itself or a variant of it.
• Kusha M-2 : Kusha M-1, with a slow but longer burning booster for extended range engagement against fast moving targets.
• Kusha M-3 : Kusha M-1, with a fast but shorter burning booster for engagement against targets like missiles.

Kusha series by external looks send like Akash-NG based development to me. Initially people thought it is based on Astra Mark2 but that now looks like a fattened Mark1 to fit dual-pulse, so maybe not.

Opinion?

Combining Airforce & IADS along with missile maxxing could be the only way we'd be able to maintain deterrence along our borders with PRC & Paxtan + KanglaDesh . In event of hostility thousands of missiles must rain ☔ on Porki+Chin airbases & forward infrastructure to disable them & keep up the pressure. A strong integrated air defence network with indigenous missiles is also necessary. Reduce the budget & size of Imported Airforce.

So, here's the thing, Armado design is from Mahindra Emirates vehicle armouring (MEVA) company based in UAE. There was never an armored car design expertise present with any of auto manufacturers in India. The best you are gonna get from their initial attempts is slightly better than the joke of armored car from kalyani inhouse design, that is last photo vehicle.

Got to meet an Indian guy who incidentally worked with MEVA and his words that Armado has been made by extensive design support from streit group, also a armored vehicle expertise company in UAE.

So not exactly, IDDM as in whole but it is Indian developed and manufactured, leaving the Indian designed part as screwdriver.

The best I can see any company doing a tad bit better in armored vehicle indigenous design is TATA as they are the ones who have invested somewhat in this field by themselves or with association with other foreign firms.

This is the level of thought process of the average joe related to that org and who are part of that org. Yeah very jealous watching the circus going on in the army. I was also under the impression army best, army strong, the only honorable individuals in the Indian govt system but, i wasn't this batshit crazy and so delulu. This is what they are being fed by the org's eco system. And looking at replies of the some of the "most respectable" veterans, makes you really think how rotten the system is and how they lack so much of knowledge compared to an average us civi in terms of equipment profile and its application. I am afraid even tactical wise our "warfighters" are behind since, tactics also depends on the equipment. So high on their own Ego they are so closed to learning or adopting anything new or even accepting there is a big problem and things are not moving fast.
I so hope there are really competent individuals out there part of the org who are just staying silent.

And Officer training.... remember we still follow old east india company british style officer led army concept. So officers are supposed to be the supreme men leading natives (who can't tell the difference between gun & bullet) into war. This mentality may have reduced a lot over the course of 70 yrs after independence, but still this superiority complex persists as can be evidenced by their open dalalli for all things foriegn and dissing on 'bloody civilians '. And to add to this toxic mix, defence PSUs with chalta hai attitude, 9-6 sarkari job work culture and MoD babus with chindi chor piece meal order approval further screw up the atmosphere leading to a huge clusterfk of indig defence industry being in the current sorry state with a non functional defence procurement system full of acronyms like DAP, AON, RFI, CAG and Gawd knows what else in the future. Chinkas and their dogs are licking their chops no doubt and following the old adage of 'when your enemy is doing mistakes, don't do anything '.

Unless IAS babu system in MoD and mentally colonised officer training culture is changed, things will remain same. Basically complete removal of all the viruses implanted by British in our institutions and education systems is required to be replaced by our own. Else forget being Wussaguru, you won't even be pissaguru

Oh, GoI and Namo seem to have decided not to touch the IA esp. with a 10 foot pole esp. After all the shenanigans these twatter gernails put out when late CDS Bipin Rawat ji was made CDS, or when some army chief was made chief overseeing rank, or during OROP...already many veterans are twatting that we (yes we dfb membraans) are being SM influenced by porkies and chinka to criticize gernails and promote an atmosphere for civilians to disband IA (or other sich similiar scaremongering). They're sensing that the castle of glass in which they were cozy for so looong is now cracking and are seeking deparately to somehow save it

LoL, with all due respect, perhaps I may have beaten you in this game, I was in 9th std when in some junk aero show I had asked ADA or HAL babu when kaveri and LCA will be ready in quite a sarcastic voice, and he had with a huge sheepish smile and in a condesecending tone (like how gernails berate us on X) told me that golden mantra - "soon". Now I am 40yrs old, and here we are ! What ?
