Mk1 version won't have tvc anyway so no need to worry. It will get IOC without it.

TVC is (usually)necessary if you're building a high maneuverability/air superiority fighter(like the F22) or maybe if you want STOVL/VTOL capabilities, otherwise it's a nice to have but not absolutely necessary.

Tbh though, in future more of air combat will be moving to the BVR arena, so tvc will be good for airshows to perform cool tricks otherwise actual utility wise it is so so.

Lol we dont have a functional after burning Jet engine and we are talking about TVC nozzles 🤣🤣🤣

Ummm... .. we do have tvc tech via AL31. We need engine for implementing. it's not just TVC but real work is on writing FCS & FADEC. Then slowly testing out various flight profiles and fine tuning FCS, FADEC further.

With stealth fighters, air to air combat is at the same time also moving into wvr fight,

Good luck getting a firing solution on f35 at bvr distances using band fighter jet radar, and chances of two stealth fighters engaging in dog fight is higher than two non stealth fighter.
It's both bvr and wvr, the importance of wvr that was decreasing is revived.

Bvr is also gonna be Mainstay, with non stealth fighter acting as standoff missile carrier and stealth drones acting as sensor extenders( for both non stealth and stealth jets)

Now traditional wvr missiles are going away, and new missiles which have similar size, similar high g performance, but longer range(close to bvr ranges) replacing those, now it doesn't mean that those missiles won't be fired at wvr range, wvr is their main range, But in case they need to fired from relatively longer ranges( close to bvr ranges) they will still have enough range to be fired.
Plus those missile will have higher energy retention at wvr range than current wvr missiles.

Right now dry varient has been cleared, a tejas jet is being prepared for dry Kaveri testing.
Though brahmos aerospace is working on an new afterburner section for Kaveri.
The dry peak sustained thrust of 49kn, is same as f404, but it was the afterburner thrust that was the problem in the past, only reaching 71kn sustained, while target was 80kn, f404 produces 78.7Kn of wet thrust.
