HAL IJT 36 Sitara

I thought HAL would have concentrated on HFTE 25 if anything, that would have nicely gelled with stretchable timeline HAL IJT.
HJT has been designed around the AL-55I . For them to go to the HTFE means redesigning the entire thing. As it is the entire program has been delayed by 20-26 yrs. Besides as per Saurav Jha in one of his IAH programs on DDR stated that we can expect the HTFE by 2027-28. Whether we'd actually get it by then is anyone's guess.

Better redesign it. Anyway with several bandages and appendages(aka fences, tail redesign etc) they have been able to make airframe stable and perform basic trainer aircraft maneuvers. Let them redesign bit more to accommodate hfte 25. Anyway IJT is turning out to be more like sandbox - for practicing their skills.

Awfully quiet....no updates on IJT's progress, another vapourware mnrega by HAL babus ?

Let me guess - HAL doesn't know when will the IJT get its FOC certification for it's still in development hell / trials. Since it has nothing positive to offer in this regard in this AeroIndia & in order to avoid inconvenient questions , they did what they just did , came up with a new livery .

Same story with the Rustom / Tapas / Archer NG or whatever new nomenclature they've assigned to that contraption now . Before inconvenient questions are asked , come up with new photographs & a brochure quietly with the press release in fine print reading - flight trials to begin before the end of this financial year.

Another joker in the pack is the indigenous RTA / MTA which along with the previous two samples have been around from probably the third or fourth Aero India show & have been a recurring theme ever since.

Could be the case, but with Hvtiaf's updates I would like to assume that the situation is a bit more hopeful than this.
