While I agree with the quality concerns of Ruski hardware, the Migs are also 40+ years old at this point. You get what you pay for. Ruski stuff costs half of western ones and their lifespan would be accordingly shorter. Mig 29s were purchased in the 80s when we were a non-entity on the world's geopolik stage. Today we are an economic heavyweight, and we need to upgrade/re-arm accordingly. If our babus, PMO, AF dont get it, whose fault is it really?!?

MiG 29s were intended for export, we got the Su-27 and derivatives only because USSR collapsed.

Those Mig-29s are recently MLUed, so theoretically there should be no lifespan issues.

But then when I try to justify cost of US platforms every dephens phanboy will be frothing from mouth how Mudi is corrupt, Generals are corrupt, and our Airforce is wasting monies by not buying the cheapest shit in Costo under sale at least 50% off.

US platforms are one of the most bang / buck you can get.
