Indian Air Force: News & Discussions

2 reasons according to me for this 40-50 Rafale purchase & scrapping of MRFA chapter.

1. If we go for larger 114 order with Make in India... the deal won't be inked at best before 2026 end... & production line will take 'atleast' 3 yrs to come up... but by then Tejas MK2 will near production.

2. Saving money for similar G-2-G emergency procurement of 2-3 squadrons of F-35.

Where we failed is Modi going with that cuck Anil Ambani for Rafale. Because of that fellow we had to drop to just 36 off the shelf G2G deal.( wish they had gone for 72). I don’t know what Modi saw in that banckrupt bafoon. Second mistake was not to follow on orders for Rafale in 2021.
All these make in India shenanigans cost us dearly because France will gave NOTA in offset TOT both Dasault and safran( naval group of scorpene subs)
It's not even the good ambani fellow backing it ?
But the failure ambani ?
Gandaberunda, you sir have made feel second hand embarassment due to modi backing the wrong ambani .
That anil ambani can't build bloody patrol boats , and he dared to enter his bid for joint venture of rafales ?
It's good we went for a government to government deal.

Why will army take scrap relics of IAF? Anything that flies in air IAF demands to be under them IAF even claimed navy aviation to be brought under them.
There is inter service rivalry at every step in armed forces. CDS is still struggling with theaterisation
Army got their own lch and those 6 apaches is a wonder in itself.
For IAF wants every thing which flies in india to control .
If allowed they would operate air india too.

The rafale deal will be cheaper,as we have already trained our pilots , we have paid for necessary facilities for rafale in India
So it will be cheaper..

Still. I believe india will go for g2g deal for su57, if not now then some day after facing paf 5th gen fighters in a skirmish

Could be this assuming Uncle Sam sells them to us.

After all the Emiratis wanted to buy F35, but the Amerc*ns asked them to consent to onerous T&Cs( you can expect what were these conditions if even a Gulf sheikhdom finds it too much ) , and out of spite they bought 80 Rafales.

As of today only ((( allies ))) get to buy the F-35, and even then only the ((( Chosen People ))) country is actually allowed to own the aircraft, Uncle Sam has the other goyim by the balls for F-35 maintenance, weapons, targeting and operations info etc.

ofc F-35 is a naazuk plane with it's delicate coatings and needs a lot of maintenance which is ofc done in an Americ*n facility :bplease:

Hope the Import Marshalls and MoD baboons and Nindaji see the massive Caveat Emptor

American fighters always comes with strings attached even to allies (except Jews). Trump is a business man and he knows India can be arm twisted easily to get huge orders so he offered F35 unilaterally. The thing is how much of negotiation will MoD will come up to remove the max no of strings is questionable if we show any interest to procure F35. Putins Su57 offer has rattled trump and he wants to scuffle that deal at any cost. Trump wants his friends to buy from him.

Primary reason is in the initial deal, the French set up facilities for 2 squadrons at both bases. So the infra exists for 4 squadrons, kinda stupid to not capitalise on it.

Yes and No.
Yes because a 114 jet deal is too big money. From the MMRCA beginning I never thaught India will purchase more than 72 to 108 bird at max, in 2 or 3 steps.
Now that 36 are in the IAF, another purchase is likely, maybe a third and stop behind.

F-35 : no way.

No Gripen because it hurts Tejas Mk 1 and Mk2, and no F-35 because it hurts AMCA. Just remains Rafale.

Of course.
All the test bench, tools, bases accomodation, training systems are ready for another 2 squad, so at a lower cost than the first deal.
And don't forget the IAF special spec. It would be a shame to spent so much money to use it only on 36 birds.
And IAF is very keen with Rafale. It kept all the promises. So all the lamps are green for another GtoG deal, at least.

First of all what is mmrca-plus agreement
Is it that they will buy 40 now like previously 36 and then the same 114 drama will continue
OR
They will conclude first 40 and then decide about remaining(74) which obviously be rafale
It'll all be G2G in batches it looks like. Smart move I say. Local production will just delay it.

i personally believe PLA style model is better for us

Army-Air Force, a joined unit under one commander,
Navy as standalone naval unit,

and raise a Marine Corps akin to USMC for Air-Land-Sea things
Gotta appreciate them chinks for copying & stealing the best from the west & changing it to their conditions, while we simply imported britshit system wholesale and refuse to adapt & change, meanwhile said gora sahib himself has done away with many of the nonsensical 'traditions'.
