Indian Air Force: News & Discussions (37 Viewers)

On the topic of bombers, do we have a need for Russian Tu160 or Tu22.

I was thinking if we had to for reals hit Paki nuclear storage sites to disable them, in that context

Also against China would these be useful? the Tu160 apparently carries cruise missiles

We can build our own bomber now itself. You can combine 4 KDE to build an flying wing bomber which can loiter and travel far for doing Bombing mission deep inside Tibet. The Thrust output will be around 196 KN .

Question, are we ready to build or just goes to the traditional India can't build anything mindset.

Arre never knew this, assumed they atleast make the airframe in Brazil but the Czechs and Portugese make that also :bplease:

In this case it is better to negotiate with Euros for A400M only.

Euro produces much more military maal and economically we can synergize with them better than with Brazil.

Thanks for this post listing all the foreign parts.

A330 MRTT + A400M is a great combo, we can negotiate a bulk deal, hope Dolund just triggers Leaderji into not buying any Amerithrash so we can buy this euro maal
Sadly IAF leadership and babuzones are not that cleaver to minimise logistic burden by ordering from same company.
They would rather order from Brazil and ukraine and cry for delays in delivery.

mat kar lala, ias babus ko yahan criticise mat kar, wo yahan lurk karte hain, kabhi bhi pols darwaze pe aa jayegi

It's 80's tech , big bulky, can't change direction fast , maybe useful to hit AWAC's. Not going to hit a modern jet in the air .

We need Astra MK2
It doesn't always need to hit, if I'm in fighter jet a & big and bulky missile is coming towards me at hypersonic speeds,
First, I will be scared shitless.
Second, I will immediately abandon whatever mission I was assigned, will turn back my jet and run away/ retreat as to not get hit by a big bulky missile coming at me at near hypersonic or hypersonic speeds.

Agree 100% it is will make a good addition to SU30MKI arsenal. Even if doesn't score hard kill, it can achieve mission kill by forcing PAF to go defensive.

If the IAF package has an escort jammer like below which covers 1-18 GHZ then it will force the PAF AEW&CS to close distance to burn through jamming, may very well come inside the engagement zone of R-37M.

Lmao.
@Azaad, dekh rahe ho, kaise phuul barsaye jaa rahe hai.🤭
Phool toh arthiyon mein bhi barsaaye jaate hain woh bhi jamkar. Are you so desperate for my validation ?

What's all this got to do with me ? Ungli diya tha toh kya haath pakdoge ? Don't you understand the meaning of DO NOT ENGAGE ? Ya 2-4 laat ghoose ke baad samjhoge ?

Assuming Rafales can't use meteors or we haven't bought them.

No worries.

Dalals will start RR from now only about how we need to acquire F-35 & AIM-120
In another 10-15 years they'll get their wish.

Anything Russian is out of the question because Govt is scared of CAATSA and the dalals will cry about "inferior ruzzian weaponry proving useless in Ukraine"
his excellency of the burgerland is so mad, he might slap caatsa even if we buy from france

Thease blue tick x idiots should know missile like r 37 and pl17 are awacs killer not sucessful against fighter jet as thease missile are not manuverable due to thier massive size and RT is Russki pr
On meteor part main selling point for rafale was meteor and spectra ew not sure why we spend that money on bugette

Though TBH, that old su27 with Ukrainian airforce wouldn't have the sensors to detect the missile coming at significant distance.
