It's the ATAGS vs ATHOS situation again. Imports are given funding priority before the domestic product is given a chance. The stryker is the most redundant import we'd be doing this decade. There's nothing it does, that the WhAP can't do. If Army can accept a Cockerill turret on the Zorawar for service, they can accept all kinds of modules on the WhAP, from unmanned turret with a 30mil, ATGMS, M-SHORAD. IF they just ASKED the lead integrators and gave the product a chance beyond doing simple mobility trials in Ladakh and Thar.Why not order both? The overall requirement of a similar class vehicle is no less than a 1000 while the Stryker deal articles mentioned ~500 to be procured
While Stryker is clearly to appease Uncle Sam, there's still a ton of room for WhAP
