Only been a few days since the forum started and people are already beating their chest over what some retarded sellout journalist has to say.

Import of Armoured vehicles is almost zero due to availability of tailor made indigenous option which are on par or even better in some cases than foreign options.

Also since indigenization is a political objective, import will have big political implications too since indigenous options are available.

People here should read how IA was humiliated and exploited when it sent out it's officers all over the world to procure artillary guns as fast as possible during the kargil war.

It's quite a shame that we have a proven/tested solution available but still pointing out lame execuses for importing.

Turret can be imported as a stop gap until we make our indigenous nag improved turret!
Just to be clear, current WHAP is already tested with the existing turret of BMP2, so I bet the same can be done for any new iterations of the same.





Unfortunately, the same happened for ATAGS now for WHAP, sadly history will repeat itself! its our IA mindset to blame.

You can never blame the enemy outside, as long as there's one with in us.

The import mentality and kickbacks will never make us self-sufficient in terms of defense.

However, IA was blaming Arjun for its weight, Abramsx y or z will be far more heavier than arjun.
