Indian Army Armored Vehicles

What config they want to change
They can change the turret the way they like
Or they want further changes in vehicle itself if so then why did they declare it has cleared all trails
It's just false hope given to industry and drdo
Atmost few ipmv more and that's it
No fool will induct any other system after inducting Stryker in huge quantity

However, IA was blaming Arjun for its weight, Abramsx y or z will be far more heavier than arjun.

Their point was most of the infra(bridges) are not capable of taking the load of Arjun.

Physics is physics (weight) unless hypocrisy is involved!! 🙄
At least with Arjun, IA had some valid and legitimate grievances. But I just fail to understand what's the issue with Kestrel though.

People keep bringing up firepower, armour etc, but for me one thing takes the cake and that is WhAp costs(23Cr) half the price of Stryker(~50Cr). WhAp is an insanely good value for money if you consider the overall package and other alternatives. Armaments and armour can be improved slowly over the period of acquisition.

Tanks toh fir bhi we can understand but whaps no way whatever tf is the case
Either ways 70 tonne tank isnt any better than our current inventory it would cost abouv 10-15 millions too
AbramsX ain't 70 tonnes. Target weight is 50 tonnes. Unmanned turret, autloader, all crew inside the hull.

That decision to buy Stryker when Indian version is as good at triple the price is a bad decision. This it appears to be a political decision not well thought out to discourage local development.

Is US pressing it hard and made it a condition that if you want to buy this US item then you have to buy Stryker?

An independent body should evaluate Stryker and the Indian Version and keep the politics and deal making out.

But sir how is Stryker a good option for ifv or icv
It has poorer pwr compared to whap and lacks amphibious capability too

Infact it can act like apc
Stryker mat dekho. StrykerX dekho. But saara picture hi confused hai. What i have heard and understood is that Stryker X and AbramsX are on the table.

Both platforms are evolutions of the existing afvs, (though AbramsX in my opinion is an entirely new tank)

what both bring key tech is hybrid electric diesel propulsion - which as you all are aware, is excellent for low signature alongside mobility improvements.
Plus they come factory ready for battlefield management system unlike our AFVs which have so many extra panels and monitors fitted without any integration whatsoever that you feel like youre driving a jugaad space shuttle cross with a simulation rig (this is a problem not unique to us, even the US army suffers from feature creep without optimisation of existing resources)

What my understanding from reading between the lines is while from a hull and armour point of view, the WHaP is an excellent platform, its lethality with existing offerings of turrets leaves much to be desired.

Especially when it comes to sensors and smart usage of said sensors, optical tracking of targets, locking onto small drones, passive scanning, etc etc. Wont go into details here, but these are key areas where Indian MIC is working towards, but will take some time to catch up.

For all the bright minds who said kesterl/WHAP is not an upgradable platform...

It's a good platform, we can definitely make multiple varients of it, also turrets can be upgraded depending on the mission profile.

This attachment is official product brochure from tata... It checks all the list including the varients we may need in the future(12 different varients including IFV, ambulance, command post etc)
