Indian Economy

There is one number that is not factored in the GDP numbers. That is the gold reserves india, last few years with BRICS have been buying up all the available gold in the market. When Inflation comes or has arrived already? Gold holdings will be vital. Price of gold is expected to hit 10,000+/ oz by 2032 when this happen the BRIC economies may see a spectacular boom time????

India's gold reserves are comparatively high. But unfortunately unlike China and Russia we can't produce our own gold.

With China pulling the Plug. Japan and England capping out. GOI is probably sending a message to US that India can slowdown their crash by parking forex into their bonds in exchange of help in industrialization.

A combination of factors, including heavy investments in US Treasury bonds and dollar sales at a healthy profit, facilitated the Indian central bank in transferring a record surplus of Rs 2.11 trillion to the government for 2023–24 (FY24).
The RBI’s dollar purchases increased in FY24, supported by robust capital inflows endorsing the economy’s health.
As of March 31, 2024, the RBI had invested $240.6 billion in US Treasuries, marking a nearly $20 billion increase between October and March, according to data from the US Department of the Treasury

I do not agree in investing in US treasury. We need to wean ourselves off the US treasury bonds one way or the other.

while sovereign gold reserves are not part of GDP calculations, since GDP measures value addition in economy.

private gold holdings in India are estimated to be 25000 tonnes, but since our ladies won't part with them unless in family emergencies, their use is limited. and they keep importing 8-9 tonnes every year adding to trade deficit.

This is just like Tata signing offset contracts with Lockheed Martin for F21. Target is not civilian market but LuH. So they are banking on Tata's to do the lobbying in IST daytime while they can do during GMT daytime later.

They can't compete against LUH. it's service ceiling is 21500 ft against 16000 ft of Airbus's H125.

You sure... you all underestimate Bombay clubs power and influence.

H125 has been pitched for IA and IAF needs for quite some time.

Sir can anybody please explain how the internship scheme in union budget is
1) helpful for economy overall
2) not a freebie or to attract votes
3) how it is different from congres's one which was criticized for causing burden on gdp

Buying bonds of any country will be the worst investment for India for 2 simple reasons:

1) Bonds are giving low interest 2-5% why do that when Indian economy is growing 5-10%(stock market)
2) The bonds are debt and as many nations are finding out the repayment may not be possible or cancelled
if you make the holder upset with you.

Surprisingly we missed June month's trade data released on 15th July. But it makes sense because it looked like bad quater. Nothing worthy in it to remember or highlight.
