Indian Economy

Jo marzi karle, HD and Tesla bikne nahin waali India main. And I mean from consumer point of view.
They may price it down to generate sales, since China has reduced incentives, car sales are expected to drop there. Tesla might want to recoup sales from elsewhere

On another thread we cry why everything is a shithole in India. That there is no one to contribute technologically or tax wise. On other hand we encourage parasitic behavior like this, emigrating to other country, paying taxes there but then buying property here driving up real estate. Spend productive years bootlicking gora sahib but then spend the "retirement" years rent seeking here.
Yup. After all Sweden absorbs millions of immigrants each year doesn't it in which case India's particularly vulnerable since even if 10,000 of our chaps emigrated ,we'd be in dire trouble.

Looks like it will happen soon.

Tariffs are 15% for first 8k vehicles as per last year policy. Now the govt is trying to sweeten the deal by allowing investing in charging infra count towards the $500m.
This actually looks tailor made for Musk because he can bring in his supercharger network now easily.

Not a fan of this move, but I also disagree with Divaji here as I don’t think we should further increase the tax breaks.

They will likely put up a cap (just like the previous scheme that allowed only 8k units to be imported annually) and Elmo will continue seething. A lot of luxury automakers are looking to manufacture their flagship EVs in India - do not see tesla gaining a blanket exemption.

Either way, let them come up with a policy first, we should not read too much into media leaks till a concrete policy is put in place.

Let's see how things go, We could get 7% if things go right or actually grow at 6.0-6.5 range

Today my collegaue from Uttarkhand is not interested to shift jobs in NCR Region stating Pollution. Even in Chennai it is pain to travel daily 3-4 hours in road to reach office. On the other hand WFH, more work and less on Petrol.

Bengaluru is even worse with respect to traffic.
wot ? people who have WFO or WFH are leaving jobs because of MNREGA ? How does it make sense ?
Also there is shortage of IT workers ? how shitty is work culture at L&T.

WFH does has some issues like, security mostly, SOC teams pretty much have to be at a center to work properly, although things are changing. This is golden opportunity to create IT hubs in tier- 2 cities in Northern India.

One of the guests says that employee are not staying in same company for more than 2-3 years which makes sense since its hard to move up ladder in bunch of these IT firms, its better to freshly join a new company directly at a new higher position. i don't see people moving around 3-4 cities within time period for like 4-6 LPA . If IT-mazdoor companies are facing heat from all these then that's a good thing.

at the end of the panelists does say a good thing that these companies need to change their work environments really .

New round of incentives for EV makers set to be announced next month (ignore the open dalali for tesla - article contains some interesting details).
