Indian Maritime Border

Not very familiar with how Naval skirmishes takes place, but being the heavier and more armed ship, PMSS Nusrat could have just ignored ICGS ship and waited for backup.

Even if there is a shooting battle PMSS Nusrat can easily tank 1x 30mm CR91 gun compared to 2X 37mm gun + 4 X 25mm gun of Nusrat ?

Maybe @Binayak95 can help ?
Nusrat is a Chinese built OPV (more like a sloop than an OPV, but sure) - you assume that the ship is in a fit enough hull state and functional state for the CO to be willing to duke it out with a vigorously aggressive ICG FPV boring down with armed boarding teams and a trained 30mm chain gun.

Warning shots were fired across the bow - or would have been to make the pakis stop.

For all their bluster, their warfighting state of the navy, and ergo, the PMSA is severely lacking.

Why did the PMSA ship even apprehend Indians in Indian (or was it international) waters in the first place? What jurisdiction did they have to take our men? And why did we just leave it at rescue, why aren't we mounting any diplomatic pressure? I feel like there is more to the story. I mean, its almost like they kidnapped our men and that reeks of all kinds of maritime law violations. Or am I reading too much into it?

Apparently there was a collision or some altercation which caused the fishing boat to sink, and the pakis rescued/arrested them.

tbh, Indian fishermen, or pakistani or bangladeshi or lankan, dont really adhere to intl maritime boundaries, and pakis love to harass - volatile mixture.
