Hindi language is being destroyed by MEDIA & bollywood... with passing time increasing number of Persian and Arabic words are replacing the Sanskrit/local ones... it's being done intentionally by both dalals... & this has significantly affected people's vocabulary... my ears bleed when I hear "mulk" instead of "desh"... and many other words and fillers...

Has been happening since Independence atleast.
Bhadwawood is the main promoter of this because of it's (((lyricists))) and (((dialogue-writers)))

For now atleast there is little progress for most films the title card is in Latin script and Devanagri, ((( Naskh ))) has vanished.

Erdoo was language of the people which is why it only contains Arab/Persian/Turkic words since those were what the Central Asian and other imported elite of the day spoke, so naturally it bled into the "common tongue" of the North.

Ideally post Independence there should have been a Swacch Bhasha Abhiyaan to cleanse Hindi of it's imported words but it didn't work even if implemented.

To this day it seems that most regional languages, even southern ones( except Tamil because i'm 100% that DMK "cleansed" it of ebul Baaman sanskrit words ) have more Sanskrit based words than "Hindi".

Anyway since the Elite speak English now, unlike what you say i feel English words are now bleeding into Hinthi, green words are on their way out.

urdu expansion was a political project which started after 1857, after mughal court fell farsi lost it's importance or rather brits crushed it, and urdu took it's place patronised by nawabs funding urdu newspapers and literature. and for bollywood, progressive writers association of bombay is the primary reason.
