This is the general weight limit, upper and lower included. There was a tender for Garuds with these specs, so..

Arre, I was just mentioning the weight they generally ask. They don't want a full length rail. This limit also includes the weight of the additional picatinnys that can be strapped on to them.

Comparing images from 2010 and 2025 (cropped for sensitivity), is the loadout for INSAS still 3x 20 round transparent 'polymer' magazines for a total of just 60 rounds?

Here's the INSAS with its basic complement of three magazines. 20x3=60 rounds.... er that's just 10 rounds more than what our fathers and grand fathers carried with their 303's into battle 40-50 years ago.

I asked some guys in a particular infantry regiment
They said for their Sigs it was 6 × 20 round magzines
With Ma Durga PC and Tata Plate
