Indian Special Forces

Did SG take part in Kargil? I read about a bunch of Vikasis being attached to another battalion in some book I can't remember - it said their performance wasn't v good.

Para's role in Kargil too is often scrutinized.

Can anyone share some actual accounts?

Has anyone been studying the Ukrainin DRGs? They're doing some mad work in Kursk right now. Chachro raid but on steroids.
Are paras today even capable of performing DA missions like the Chachro raid?

About SG's role in Kargil
"At the height of the Kargil war in 1999, prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee summoned the director-general (security) at the cabinet secretariat for a one-to-one, hush-hush meeting. He had one question for the officer: Did he have men who could carry out an operation near Pakistan’s nuclear facility in Kahuta, located in the Himalayan foothills in their part of Punjab?

Soon after the meeting, a band of 40 bearded men in plainclothes left their base at Sarsawa in Saharanpur district in Uttar Pradesh for a remote location in Jammu and Kashmir, the terrain of which was similar to that of Kahuta. The men were part of the Special Group, India’s most elite special forces unit that was so discreet that it was considered nonexistent. Their objective: train for a suicide mission. “For almost 45 days, the men were made to run up and down the hills for the mission, which did not happen ultimately,” an intelligence officer who monitored them from Delhi told THE WEEK. "

As sad as it sounds, I would wager not, atleast not without retraining back into a mindset and training made of conventional mobility warfare(and that includes modernized gear en masse for the regular infantry too because without regular infantry there's no points in doing raids)

AFAIK only some part of the Army even tries to wargame a conventional warfare scenario.

Let me know how does the jacket feel pants I have no use of so it's useless to me
What is the review of the pants?
The Frostguard Mk.1 jacket is bloody good. It got warm fast and I didn't even have to close the zippers. Speaking of the zippers, they are real good quality, smooth. Pockets are tough as hell as well.

As for the Crusader Mk.2 pants, they are stupid comfortable. Pockets are great, zippers again top notch, ankle strings don't come loose once you tighten them, and I just went out on a light run wearing these.

Good things have already been said here for the Mistral Mk. 1 tees and I have nothing new to add. Overall everything I bought, I highly recommend.

SFF as a whole was involved as per their roles.

PARA SF along with the 50th PARA Brgd did what most people can't even think off, many western SF fanboiz troll em for the fck up where 10 PARA SF and 5 PARA Cdo lost a few men due to inaccurate INT but were forced to assault the peak.
Anybody can tell me who lased/designated the target when the IAF M2Ks were bombing peaks during Op Safed Sagar?
