Indian Special Forces

In recent tonbo is seen more and more with sf and also infantry
For proper situational awareness i think 3 thermal on every 8 man are must for day and night ops and night vision well at least i think we see more of it
Well the ratio for monocular NVS is 1:1 for all the SF units(except the recently converted ones), AFAIK.
Helmet mounted NVG both monocular and dual tubes are also available(dual tubes in limited). Quads are yet to come properly.
TI sights both weapon mounted and helmet mounted are coming, erstwhile airborne units seems to be more interested in TI sights rather than NVS.

True 1 Para's goated.
Maj Abhay Sapru said before in a beerbiceps podcast that 1 Para has a sanction of 40 officers but only 13 are presently available. Which shows they do not compromize on standards at all.
This shortage of officers is a real problem. Units functioning bare number of officers.. at least in para units sufficient no of officers should be posted at all times.. wonder how adversely does this shortage effect the unit cohesion, capabilities.

P.S - are you sure Maj Sapru said this in beerbiceps ? I have seen the podcasts, but can't recall him saying this, & this is not detail that I would miss.
Just asking coz I can't bear to watch that schmuck beerbicep guy again to verify this detail.

so every operator has at least 1 night sight to use, either on his weapon or on his helmet. or do they get separate sights for weapons and helmets?
