Could be just cross training with Army afaik the tender was from Army themselves only and not navy so could be Army's Insas and even if it's not Army's and Marcos got some the reason only they can explain tbh I see upgrading insas as waste of resources specially the price old small arms thread had the price it was expensive af @BlackViking did you guys participate in the tender? Was it for Army only?


Edit - found the price it's ₹99,272 per insas that's highway robbery

could get a decent BCM build for this much ...............(only if we had a homegrown industry)

Yes, after that no SF commender shown any intrest in creating a seperate SF regiment.
For the sake of their promotions they continue to say "yes sir" "ok sir" to all commands from infantry units.

More like no initiative has taken by the upper brass. General Joshi who was COAS (and a Corps commander in late 80s when this was being formalized) spearheaded this alongside sf commanders
