What kind of a nation are we? Something that died in the mid 90s couldn't be rectified ever again. No specialized equipment, no primary intel gathering capacity, no specialized training. Only thing left in the SF is the unquestioned ability to grow long beards ig.

No foresight going forward too. Heck even infantry has new weapons and sights rn. But what would one do even if you give new stuff. Grip the mag when there's a vertical foregrip already. No nightfighting capability because only 2 in the squad have proper nvgs. Like which other SF uses monoculars in 2024? And the moment we see a single piece of PVS 31s in an expo, we jerk off like crazy. Training ke naam pe sirf pitthoo leke lamba douro bass. Counter ambush, cqb, kuch nahi karna. Har baar international exercise meh jake beizzati karwana.

No serious nation functions like this. Only josh is keeping this machinery running. But for long?

This guy is a true gem, from Pakis to Chinese, from Khalistanis to LTTE, from Naga millitants to Kashmir millitants - this guy has fought every enemy of independent India.

I like him cause he makes sense, read his book on Indian special forces, many of the things he discusses have been said before in this forum however, he does not face the same backlash as Maj Sahani by the Jai Ho gang because he is a very well reputed officer, some say he's the Jock Lewis of Para SF.

was the para airbone troops demand that the wanted to be called SF (why?) or was this decision taken by leadership .
If this decision of mixing two very different elements was taken by leadership what purpose did it even serve apart from increasing expenditure .
I don't see this having any effect on their combat effectiveness as they are still the same equipment and training wise .

None of them are going to risk this after what the govt apparatus along with the enemies within the Army leadership did to VK Singh. Bipin Rawat might have been one of them to risk it, but he is gone so we can just speculate.

Everyone wants SF tab for salary..its very simple.

Too many SF too less budget.

Rest is a problem of recruiting wrong people for the wrong job.

Most if not all Officers show an attitude where they wanted to get something from SF…NO ONE talked about giving back to SF.

With such mindset the organisation looses.

How long can you run a force on the principles of Brits?

Its a really simple to understand problem and hard to solve…And mind you i dont see this improving in the next 2 decades aslo.

I often heard a quote - "the army has gone to the dogs". Now, I truly feel that this quote is absolutely correct. Infact, you can easily identify these dogs. Weaklings, all of them, spineless bootlickers, who show their "shaurya" only on podcasts, after retirement.
The current COAS should have never become chief, specially after the casualties suffered under his watch at NC.

He didn't do anything iota of effort to stop or reciprocate the consist ambushes infact under his command many trts infiltrated
Under his command we suffered 3 beheading including an officer
And no revenge has been taken and I consider head of a Pakistani officer as revenge
He was the guy who signed the removal of RR battalion who were mad coz their boy's head is missing and mind u still missing

Consider a grand super plan behind the curtains that's going on for a while now, pushed by Airborne COs and Senior Airborne Offcrs (serving and retired) we'll have a structure that'll soon fall apart or evolve into something good with additional structures. Fingers crossed.

These guys are talking about recent ops ie last 3 years and poor performance of Indian army.

Terrorists have upper hand due to Thermal sights being brought from left overs in Afghanistan…Meanwhile we loose the cream of the crop in poorly planned ops.
