Whats wrong in this? That weapon has rails on both under the hand guard and also on the sides.He chose to place the vertical grips on the left side instead of laser and put light under the hand guard where usually grips are being placed.Though i admit its not the ideal setup

Whatever fun we make of him in the end his nvgs are better setup than most indian units and he has a pretty decent gear.

My post was to highlight that they are really trying hard to modernise..

The way they are setting up their gear seems to indicate that they have no expertise or experience in it's usage.

Ironic, given that many from Para SF are deputed to NSG ! So IA doesn't trust their own guys ? Heights of turf war ....

I will just like to say to everyone who is young..

1.Dont take things to your heart..Its the Army not your personal life.

2.Learn to switch on and off..Dont take this to your home..let it not affect your life.

3.DO NOT join the Army thinking you will get cool gear or you will force the Army to get cool gear.

4.Indian Army will not change fast.

5.Do not idol worship…Study all traits of a human being.

6.You are just a username and fortunately this is not your bread and butter.

7.Forums are just entertainment/ hobby!!!

Spot on...I too used to be idol worshipping, my army great etc...etc...with time you realise the truth, with more time you strive to see where the actual problem lies and accept it. If you feel depressed take a break, go back to the real world, nothing works like distracting yourself. Online world is not the real world

In 10-15 years from now i would say it will even be a disaster for US to fight China..maybe it will be even today.

My humble opinion is that we should not fight China.

China is very capable of rolling over us in any battlefield and more than capable of upsetting NE region.

Diplomacy is the best option.

( and i am not saying this as sarcasm..we are past the sarcasm stage)

We're not bashing the boys who'll have to fight with whatever they've got, all the ranks and young officers who will be at the front when shit goes down. We're bashing the upper brass, who in their enlightened state, have decided to make the army stagnant in capabilities,putting it nicely. To be way more blunt the army is in a dire state, and nobody's giving a shit. We'll sadly have to pay this price in blood and tears when the next war comes, solely because the upper brass believes jai ho will win every and any battle.

I respect those who'll have to suffer, but it's also fair to say the army itself doesn't have the capabilities to fight a near peer conflict with minimal casualties. We'll be facing tons of casualties. Then only will we learn the lessons where we'll evolve.


The rants are quite valid. You can't blame those who rant here about the state of our SF. Modernisation is there, at least in some manner, still we are way behind others.

My friend do you realise we could loose a war so easily against China or not?

Unfortunately,if Army was anyones bitch i wont have said a word but we all have to collectively deal with the reality that this Army which wears Tin helmets, uses 4 insas for drone guns,has no idea about long range and angle sniping,returns funds like its the best equipped Army and then its officers talk like they are Thors friends from the planet of Asgard.

If we are soo wrong why are so many soldiers on LOC falling to sniper attacks?Wheres your counter sniping?

If we are soo wrong why have so many SF soldiers died in the last 3 years?

The bottom line is my worship of Indian Army is by raising my voice for better equipment so that young soldiers dont die and not by licking the boots of retired officers who maybe couldnt do their jobs.

(It is not the job of a civilian to have this knowledge and raise voice..its the job of a army officer)

Nobody mocks the Army. It is my (and YOURS) PATRIOTIC DUTY to hold the Military/Parliament/Etc Etc and Our Leaders accountable.

If you truely understood many things in the Army the sheer number of Politicians, Generals, Buearacrats that should be held accountable for treason is mind boggling.

The Indian Army will always redeem its duties. It will throw bodies at the problem (like Kargil) the poor jawan and line officers will die - generals will get medals and promotions.

Who are you to set the limit? How old are you? What have you seen or heard or experienced that you are qualified to set a limit?

This being a SOF thread - what are your views of converting the Paras to SF? Does it not piss you off? What is your view of Para officers demanding SF tabs just to get Hazard pay? Dont you think that if that is how we can treat the tip of our spear something is truely rotten at the core?

Overcome the blind patriotism of your ego - that will never be of any value or serve our country. Go out and fight against whats wrong. Rage against it. That is YOUR RIGHT.

If I'm not wrong then Chinese should be the most matured force in terms of experience with these kinds of oonga boongas as they've long toyed with multiple ideas like Gyrocopter, Para Gliders and Paramotors. But in the end they too decided to shift focus more on the traditional airborne insertion methods like helicopter and HAHO/HALO jump using large planes.

So in case if you don't have planes to do that type of jump? Or not enough planes?

What are the chances of a small team of 6-8 men in 3-4 of these making it past enemy line without detection in areas where crossing through land is very hard, like mountains and hill's, like Hamas did manage to do that, tho it was also a surprise attack.
