Indian Special Forces

Well that's the neat part, you don't; hardly 10km is what you get.

You're clubbing together multiple issues Buddy

• Are Paras taking bit too much casualties in COIN operations?
Yes and it has multiple issues to it ranging from different training to operating in civilian areas to poor operational planning.

• Are Paras "not that special" anymore?
Yeah, kind of. I always say our Paras are what Ghatak should have been, Ghataks are what RRs should have been, RRs are what infantry should have been and there's none who should have been like Delta Force. MARCOS gives a pretty textbook example of what Special Forces should have been.

• Are we not taking revenge?
We don't know. If it would have an escalation of LSCO with Pakistani soldiers firing artillery and we also replying then it would have been over in days. Almost all the escalations are covert and against the Laws of War so we also retaliate in a just manner. And these are not "civil" enough to be told to the nation in a press conference so no-one knows.

Compare 4x gliders with 8x troops to an utility helicopter carrying a detachment of 8x troops.

I'm starting the comparison for you, you can continue for other parameters like range, speed, altitude if you wish
• A helicopter can have substantial level of armament with it ranging from MGs to missiles.
• Typical sound signature of a 2/4 stroke glider should be around 100dB and for a modern turboshaft helicopter around 115dB.
So I guess use of those motorised paragliders by Hamas and Egypt is mainly due to cost and ease of access , especially Hamas.

What shall be sound signature of Electric Motor based Glider
Trust me, I had this gut feeling that Anant"slap a BLDC to everything"s might conjure out of nowhere

Well it would be drastically less because now you'd just have a low frequency humming of the motor and the "whooshing" of the propeller compared to the earlier loud bursts of a 2-stroke engine.

But the Achilles' heel of electric propulsion would be here too; you'll need significantly more weight in terms of battery+motor compared to engine+petrol to get comparable power or endurance.

Yo BLDC and non permanent magnet motors are latest obsession. Their relatively Silent operation and compact size and cheap availability - make it AKs of current timeframe.

Well apparently they can be loud too

But they could be employed for short sprint ingressions.

Sometimes I feel its become cool to mock Indian army on this forum
Sometimes here we do good discussion, facing each other's opinion
But people here start ranting that indian army not capable to redeem their duties
I know our army have many loopholes, highbrows etc , our soldiers always deliver more then they get in terms of gear , training, pay etc
Please guys don't cross limits
Dont cross limits? What are you a child? Leave if you dont like it.

This makes absolutely zero sense. You want all of the Indian Infantry to become counter insurgency units? You want RR, Coin unit, to do behind the line enemy operations?? This part makes absolutely zero sense and just shows lack of understanding of the Kashmir Insurgency, no offense.

Arre Bhai mere, go through it once more...it's regarding the "level of speciality" a force has, not the kind of operation we use them for.

The level of budget, training, kits and weapons RR get because they're considered a Tier above regular infantry is what the infantry deserves. Similarly the level of money spent on Para because they're the so called Tiers-I operators is hardly justified for Ghatak; the shock troopers.

To get the knowledge of these kinds of revenges you'll have to go inside the Officers's Mess and then maybe you can find some interesting "trophies" to say the least.

Or maybe wait some 15-20 years after which someone might write a book that no one would read. But then suddenly someday someone would find quite an interesting paragraph in that book hidden in some boring chapter.
Or wait for the likes of a certain "My Daddy served in Para so I am special" or some other turd with a Napoleon complex with contacts inside the Officer's Mess because their Daddy or someone they know served bring out those photos as "exclusive" insights into the SF world and then brag about the fact that rest of us mere mortals will never have the "aukaat" to visit INS Abhimanyu or similar bases because we are insignificant.
